You think I would have learned my lesson by now. I really shouldn't post before I know for sure.
Back story--DH is a certified Art Teacher who hasn't been able to find ANY kind of job outside of retail. I posted last year about the couple Charter schools that he was interviewing at, none of which turned out to be worthwhile. I posted that he had finally found something back then, but after 2 whole days on the job he learned that Charter Schools are evil minions of hell (at least the one he was at
)
So fastforward to today. He interviewed at a local company that creates concrete rock things (waterfalls, ponds, pavers, lazy river rides at a local amusement park). He would be a sculptor/painter of the concrete. It's year-round. They work out of a factory in the winter and also some sites. Only two people in the company (the owner being one) know how to do the job. They would train him and then he would hire and train helpers later on. The company's been in business for 10 years. They are the only company in the North East that does this ork and are highly in demand.
He's super-excited. They basically told him that they would call him in the next couple of days with a salary offer. We have no idea what they will offer. I've done some searching and artisans who do this on their own often charge $100-$200 per hour!! Of course DH will make no where near that, but probably moe than his $8 an hour retail job.
DH REALLY liked the owner (who did the interview). The owner was also excited by DH's computer graphics background as his secretary has been making the companies flyers from Microsoft Word. SO he can do that when they can't get out to sites and things.
So what do you all think? I shouldn't get my hopes up right? I can't help it! Like I said they said they were offering him the job, but it's so hard not having any idea what kind of salary to negotiate for...

That's so exciting!
Disney has their own people for that type of thing, but maybe once he's done it for a while?
