dh gained a little weight and couldn't

My hubs gained a little weight the last few years. He is the kind of guy that carries it all in the tummy. He is also tall with a long torso- so the tum is higher up than the average person. We had a couple of days by ourselves at Universal for our last trip before the kids came and we went to disney. I think he is the reason why they say "guests with certain body dimensions" ... He barely got in several of the rides. The music roller coaster bar was not shutting all the way and he was trying to push it down further and the guy said, "sir stand up" I thought we were getting kicked off. All the color drained from dh's face and he kind of teared up a little But then they moved us to another car which was a tiny bit better. Dh was humilated and feeling awful. Really dampened the mood on our special day without the kids....Just a warning if you are your dh are tall and have a belly, you may have a problem on their rides!
ps. i don't know dh's weight but probably 240-250 or so and he is a little over 6"1'. So a big guy, but still in regular sizes and not big enough to think it might cause a problem somewhere.

Ho, I'm so worried about that. For the first time in about 20 years, my dad has agreed to travel with us. He has a footballers' shape when you look at him from the bad... but looks like a pregnant lady from the front... Moreover, he is like 6'4''.

I think he'll spend most of his time relaxing on a bench.

Any other rides at WDW that your hubby had issues with? I'd rather tell my dad ahead of time (or get my mom to tell him)

A little ways down the tips board is an "Everything Pooh Sized" thread that has people's experiences with rides along with their sizes - the only one I see mentioned often is Astro Orbiter

No problems at Disney. He went to Magic Kingdom with us and Epcot , hit all the majors, no issues. Universal was a nightmare though!

When I went to WDW the last couple of times, I was about 290 pounds and 6'1''. I didn't have a problem getting in any of the rides, so it really depends on your body shape. I carry a lot of it in my stomach as well, but I am a female, so that may be a bit of a difference. My next trip is in 2 months, and I have lost 60 pounds since my last trip, so I am not anticipating any problems this time either. Good luck to anyone going! I have never had a problem with Disney parks, but Knott's Berry Farm and other parks are a different story. I remember when I used to work at Disneyland, and I asked a guest how his day was going, and he said it was lousy because he waited in line for an hour for Space Mountain, only to be told that he was too big for the lap bar to lock. So it definitely happens, I guess it just depends on where the weight is on your body.

I can't say I've ever had a major issue - at Universal, the Forbidden Journey seats on the ends of each bench are adapted for larger folks, and there it's a bit snug. A lot of the snug rides at Universal have specially adapted seats in general and I always ask for those. I carry all my weight in my belly, and that tends to be the issue with fitting for me. No real issues at WDW - back when SWSA was running, that was a little snug for me, but nothing major.
