DH called from his business trip and.......

....he has arranged for DS and I to meet him on Thursday afternoon and he upgraded to a family room so we could spend the night then return home all together on Friday.

DS and I are doing the happy dance right now!!!

It isn't too far, about 2-1/2 hours from our home, but it is in a part of Italy I have never been to. The town is called Aviano, their is an air force base there and it is located in the far northeastern corner of Italy, north of Venice.

Debi thats the area where my Grandfather came from. I have never visited, but hope to someday.

Last year we visited the town where DH Grandfather was born and raised in before he came to this country. DH still has family there whom we visited with for 3 days.

I can only say to walk the streets that your Grandfather walked as a child are one of the most moving experiences. They have a saying in the village while holding their heart "Contento" I had tears in my eyes as I watched my DH walk these same ancient streets.
