GREAT!!!! What are you all going as (if not as yourselves?) LOL! I am such a KID...LOL! I cannot wait to go to MNSSHP, so much so, that we may even go TWO nights!

LOL your son's picture is tooo cute :goodvibes

Thanks!!! I think we'll keep him, LOL! It's the typical face I get when I break out the camera... you'd be appalled to see some of the other things he does... :sad2:

Hey SIS!!!! You bet we're dining buddies  I have to laugh, because I swear I've called the dining res. line about 40 times since August (when we booked this trip!) LOL! I'll have to tell you the story of how we got our ADR for Le Cellier! (when we meet up at WDW... I was sworn to secrecy!)

Maybe I should put down my times too huh??? LOL! We're going to GFC BRIGHT AND EARLY (7:20am)!!!!! Oh yeah, and MAYBE Jon will get up early... though I'm not all too sure about that...LOL! we have a heck of a time getting him up and ready for school... he usually procrastinates until about 10 mins. before we have to leave! This is why I have not so good feelings on getting up early... I'm hoping that the disney fairy will sprinkle pixie dust on himpixiedust: , and make him easier to get up and ready in the morning... if you hear a lot of screaming from the WL:rolleyes1 ... it might just be ME trying to get the heck out of the room!!! :headache:

Kona's at 8am... yup, another one of those early ones for Jon to get up for... maybe we'll still be there for this one when you guys arrive!

The ADR at CMC is at 7:15 though... so we'll definately be there early for that one though... and we'll see you then!

I cannot sleep half of the time, so getting up early for these ADR's we have isn't an issue for me... as much as it is for Jon. :sad2: Maybe the disney wake up call will do it for him!

Is it tacky to order your own birthday cake? (or birthday dessert?)

I didn't get one for my birthday day (17th); so I was going to order the castle cheesecake (yummmm!!!!)...

I was also thinking of ordering something cute for my DS... but I don't know what to get for him! I don't want to get something that will have a lot left over... cuz I don't want to take stuff home with me (yuck!) Any ideas????

Love the title of your food porn thread. :thumbsup2

And ... there is a giant ice cream man bursting out of your chocolate volcano!!! :rotfl2:

I just want to be sure everyone's entertained ... Wanna see some pictures (keeping in mind that I didn't plan on these being in a "food review"... )

Here are some of my favorite pics from December 2007 (With DD)

The "volcano" dessert at the Rainforest Cafe at AK.

Well if it's tacky then I'm the Queen of Tackiness! :lmao:

I love ordering special stuff for my birthday ... if I waited for my husband to do it for me it would never happen (and that's not a slam against my hubby, it's just the way things are). I figure when at WDW it's perfectly acceptable to create a little magic ... sometimes it's for someone else and sometimes it's for yourself. :goodvibes

Thanks!!! It makes me feel better knowing I'm not the only one!!! LOL!

I did order DS some choc. covered strawberries... though at the moment I'm not sure he's deserving of it.... long story~he's being a dweeb right now.

(and thanks for stopping by!!!! :goodvibes )

Counting down the hours!!! LOL! I've got so much to do before we leave! (like pack.) I'm off to get something accomplished today!

Yay you guys made it home! I cannot wait to hear and see all about it!

To start off our vacation...and give you all a clear picture of how it all began.... I gave Jon his clothes at 2:15am on the 22nd, and said "If you aren't dressed by 2:35, I'll see you on the 27th." LOL! He was dressed within 2 minutes. Shocking.

We had an uneventful 1 hour ride to the airport, although there was WHITE STUFF falling from the sky. It's too early for this weather. ugh.

We arrived at our Delta ticket counter to check our 2 bags... and was met with "Would you and your son like to volunteer to take the next flight out this morning?" Hum, ah, NO. (oh, then she sweetened the deal) We'll compensate you each $400 in Delta dollars (I'm thinking.... hey, I can plan another trip to mickey land!) I told the girl that we were hoping to get upgraded to first class (baby!) as it was what Jon wanted to do.... "SURE!" she said!!!! HEY! what's 4 hours anyway? So we hung around the airport, boarded our flight, arrived JFK and went FIRST CLASS BABY :cool1: all the way to Orlando!!!!!

Did you know that you don't have to pay for drinks in first class???? I was thinking, hey, I can get toasted, and have a nap on the way to Orlando... well, they make some strong margs in first class! Here's the picture:

Gingermarg.jpg

Jon's gingerale is on the left, my one and only margarita is on the right... yup, I'm a lightweight. one drink puts me to sleep.... usually.

Jon had a great time on the plane, they have tvs and interactive games on the flights.... it was cool!!!!!

We made our way (pretty quickly) to the ME desk... too bad they don't serve margs there.... We arrived home to the Wilderness Lodge at 5:15 pm... (I had called and cancelled the Tusker house res. while waiting to leave in Burlington)

Jon and I made our way to Epcot... Can I just say that the disney transportation is very nice, on some occasions... but sitting sideways really got to my stomach on a number of ocassions. (can you say BLEH! ) No, the driver didn't have to clean up after me... but one time was very close! (sorry if TMI)

Okay... Dinner at Le Cellier (aka the place that has that awesome cheddar soup ~ to quote Jon)

Our waiter was Jeff, from Nova Scotia. He was GREAT!!! Attentive, accomidating, funny, my drink glass was never empty! We sat in the main dining area. Jon loved this place! We arrived about 20 minutes early, and had to wait til our actual res. time, which wasn't bad, as the hostesses were talking with us all in the waiting area (when we arrived they weren't personable, but I asked Jon to go over and see where they were from. ~can you say "Ice Breaker"???)

I had a diet coke (I didn't take pics. of my drinks, doesn't everyone know what a diet coke on ice in a glass looks like??? ;) ) Jon had the chocolate shake:

The bread "tree":

Jon's Prince Edward Mussels... (eeew, I don't do mussels or clams, so I didn't try them) Jon said that they're "musselly, and beats school lunch any day!" silly boy, he's in Disney, that beats anything, anyday!

LCMussels.jpg

I had the Cheddar soup. I loved the cheddar soup. The cheddar soup DID NOT love me though. At All! :sad1: Jon loved the cheddar soup, and licked the bowl! See:
LCJonLickingplate.jpg

Jon had the strip steak, with roasted potatoes. I had the filet sub potatoes and just gravy.
LCStripandFilet.jpg

We did get dessert, but we took it to go... I didn't have a chance to take the pictures, before the dessert got mangled on the way back to WL. :( sorry. We did get the chocolate mousse, and the cheesecake. Neither of which I had. Hum, oh well.

If you notice Jon wanted to be in the pictures, this did change over the course of a few days....

Up next... "This place is Hoity Toity, let's eat quick before they ask us to leave!" AKA: The Grand Floridian Cafe.

Can't wait to read all about it! I hope your having a great trip!

The trip was so much fun! We loved the WL, and there was just WAY too much food on the deluxe plan! I'm still full!

Angela,

I know you will not get this until you come home but I just want to tell you that Todd and I had a blast hanging out with you and Jonathon tonight! Hope the rest of your trip was a lot of fun!

Thanks Nicki! We had a great time hanging out with you and Todd! Too bad we didn't see eachother earlier, huh?

What a great picture! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Jon had a great time being goofy in the picture.... to my dismay. LOL!

I looking forward to this!

I'll be posting more soon! Thanks for reading!

Can't wait!!!!:cool1:

Thank you for reading!!!!

Yay you guys made it home! I cannot wait to hear and see all about it!

It's good to be home, although it was snowing when we arrived....:scared1:
I downloaded about 900 pictures! (and 3 videos!) This is actually less than I took when DD and I went in Dec. (I don't know why!) I'll be posting another round later today!

Thursday morning Jon and I went to the Grand Floridian Cafe (shockingly enough, I didn't have to struggle to get him up!)... and it was beautiful! (and being a crunchy from Vermont  , I was a bit intimidated.) We did have a great breakfast! Our server was Shelly from Massachusetts (more westerly than where I grew up.) Although I was still full from dinner, I opted for something light. I had the Continental breakfast, which included a hot beverage (I ordered tea), cold beverage (O.J.), and some pastries. The pastries were a blueberry muffin, a cream cheese filled pastry (yum, but cheese sometimes doesn't agree with me ;) ), an apple turnover, and a plain croissant.

Here's the tea:

And the plate of pastries.

Jon ordered the gigantic mickey waffle, with bacon (they put sausage on it too... He also had apple juice. Jon was determined to eat ALL of his breakfast, and to my surprise, he did! YAY JON!!!
GFChugeMickey.jpg

I had ordered some extra goodies for him, being that it was his "first" visit, and I wanted him to have something special... chocolate covered strawberries! These were the most delicious, sweet, yummy things ever! (and shouldn't they be for $6 each!!!!! :scared1: I was told $5 each by the cake line when I ordered them. I got hosed! ~ but they were very good!)
GFCChocCoveredStraw.jpg

So later on, we went to MK for the day, and we got a couple of snacks... there's a story to this. Jon and I were waiting (patiently) in line at the Sunshine Terrace, and the next line emptied, well the server (Joey) called the man that was BEHIND me to come over... then he saw my face, and mouthed an apology. He rushed through the order that the man had, and asked me to come over. I placed my order... a cap. float (for me), a coke float w/chocolate ice cream (for Jon) and a Jack Skellington cookie (for jon, of course.) I think Joey was a bit flustered. He made my drink, then made Jon's with vanilla ice cream. He realized his mistake, and made the chocolate ice cream one. He comped me for my Cap. Float, and gave me the other vanilla ice cream float also (what was I going to do with 2 floats, plus what Jon ordered???) I gave the Vanilla float to a woman in line behind me. Got Jon's cookie and Chocolate Float, and was charged for 2 snack credits... (instead of the actual 4 that we were given.) Hum, not bad.

Here's a pic. of the cap. float (can you see how warm it was, the thing was melting!!!), and Jon's cookie. Jon had to put his float in a cup because it was spilling all over, so I didn't get a picture of it . But here's a picture anyway!

Up next... Crystal Palace Lunch
