Yep, just 9 more days and Dale and I will be checking into the Yacht Club
Our flight is at 6am and we arrive in Orlando about 10am (we couldnt get a direct flight) We'll pick up our rental car from Alamo (only $108 for the week!) and drive the YC. After check-in we'll head over to the Poly for lunch at Kona. Then back to the YC for a swim in Stormalong Bay before we head over to the MK for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

That rate is with taxes. I am thrilled with that price and the only discount was the "Alamo Insiders". Dale is not a fan of renting a car, since he drives an hour each way for work he thinks a vacation means he doesn't have to drive, but for that rate I couldn't resist! Plus at SSR the buses can be a nightmareWell, I missed the single digit dance, but you should only be about a week away now, so Yeah.......

This is a great rate. Is that with taxes? Did you use any special code that is out now. I have only been toying slightly with the idea of renting a car next month. It would help with ADRs and transfering resorts, but only if I can find a fabulous deal. Part of me hates to drive, but the other part of me doesn't really care for the buses.

So here it is the beginning of the end....
When we made it to the Magic Kingdom the park was already packed! Tons of anxiously awaiting park guests, camera crews and news crews were set up all over the place! Don't believe me?
Oh now that makes me nostalgic
My friend and I were at the starting point of our last trip on this day, and foolishly still at the off property stage of the trip. We watched the opening ceremony on the TV at the hotel before taking the 2 bus journey (yes, you can really take public transport to Disney from International Drive - you just have to be patient / crazy) to AK for an early breakfast with Donald at Tusker House... We didn't make it to the MK until later that afternoon, but was bowled over by how packed it was. Really the day before and the day after were quiet, as you would expect at Disney in the off peak season, but for those 24 hours it was mental. The most amazing thing we saw was about 2 or 3 am in the Haunted Mansion, the lift room was full of crazy Disney fans and everyone spontaniously started speaking the lines along with our dear ghost host - just one of those magic Disney moments.
Anyway, thank you for your trip report, and thank you for sharing your one more disney day memories, you've made my day. I'll be looking forward to your next trip report. Have a wonderful time!

We heard people talking all around us about how they had just flown in for the day or driven in for the day. I am sorry I don't know if that would necessarily be worth itYou just get a few more hours at Disney and it wasn't like these people were from close by!

I dunno. That lure can be pretty strong. Many's the time when I'm driving one or both DD home from dance that I've said, "How about we don't turn here and instead take the next exit? In 34 hours we'd be in Disney!"

I did. DW had a bunny when we were dating (okay, I got it for her) and that sucker could move.
And I don't know about your garden variety bear, but the polar bears that would wander into town certainly could boogie when they were scared off.

What a great way to end a Disney trip. A special event and breakfast at the Crystal Palace. Crystal Palace breakfast is my favorite. Can't wait to hear about your next trip. Caitlin's last trip as a single woman!
