"Detroit has never sounded so sexy!" A mother/daughter February 2012 NEW TR LINK

Ahh I'm so jealous that yall got to go to the concert! My mom and sister and I are huge fans of the show and we've been to the concert for five different seasons, but this year they aren't coming anywhere near us! :( I love Joshua and Colton and Skylar. Sounds like yall had a great time!!

I'm sorry you're going to miss the AI show this year! It was so good and like I said Colton and Joshua were great!

Aww, that was VERY brave for Caitlin to try out! Hopefully someday she'll be able to make it into the show! :goodvibes

I agree :)

What? You snuck an update in and I didn't see it????

I'm glad you guys really enjoyed the AI concert and how great that Joshua sounded better in real life than on TV. Sounds like a fun evening.

Woo Hoo Caitlin! :cool1: Congrats on trying out for AI and for getting such positive feedback. You go girl!

It was just a tiny update so it was easy to miss :)

I thought Joshua came across as sort of "over the top" on tv but in person I loved him!

Woo Hoo Caitlin! :cool1: Congrats on trying out for AI and for getting such positive feedback. You go girl!

She says "thank you". I'm not sure if she'll try out again but she was glad she gave it a shot :)

I don’t know how I missed this update!

I’m glad you and Caitlin had a good time at the American Idol concert. I really liked Colton this season and was sad he got kicked off so early.

That’s really cool Caitlin tried out for AI, even though she didn’t get to go on. Very brave of her! Hopefully she gets picked if she does it again! :goodvibes

Thank you! Caitlin was a huge Colton fan and was working the night he got kicked off. I felt so bad when she got home and I had to tell her he was done :(

I'm not sure if she'll try out again but she was glad she gave it a try anyway :)

That's awesome to hear your grandfather's going on the trip with you guys and you are going to the Halloween party as Mike, Sully and Boo :goodvibes And it'll be interesting to hear what your grandfather thinks of all the changes (I know it was cool to hear when my dad told me on my first trip about the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ride) :)

:thumbsup2 to the Backlot Tour and seeing the Monsters Inc. characters! That's so cool that you got to walk around the Streets of America with nobody there. I didn't even know they had little sounds playing... or am I just blanking on the fact I have heard them before... uggghhhh... Disney Withdrawal :P

Sorry you didn't get to see Phineas and Ferb :( And I'm loving all those Muppet hats, I could totally use one and I desperately need to see the movie. It seems every time someone I know watches it, I'm either doing something else or not there for when it happens. Muppets... so elusive...

Oh wow, never seen those two guys before even though the Chef looks fairly similar to the waiter who does the stunts in France at EPCOT, maybe they're the same guy. Hmmm... but they look like lots of fun.

The Brown Derby sounds REALLY good. I've heard mixed reviews about the place too, but I think I want to check it out for myself. I mean, that Cobb Salad has been calling to me. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your entrees, but from my standpoint they sound pretty good. I may have to check those out same with the lovely desserts (<3 Creme Brulee). That's awesome the guy offered you some more Fantasmic passes, it sounds like you definitely had some great service there ::yes::

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Hi All! Happy Monday!

But today is Sunday! Boy, I'm soooo far behind. Catching up though.

On Friday we went to the American Idol Concert. Let me tell you....all 10 of those kids are super talented and if you can get tickets when the tour hits your town, GO!

They don't come up here, but I have been tempted to go down for a "So You Think You Can Dance" show with the DDs.

We were Colton and Philip fans all season and those boys were even better live!

We haven't watched much Idol for a while. Or SYTYCD either. Just getting tired of it all, I guess.

When Caitlin left off we were debating what to do next. Well it just so happened that an American Idol show was about to begin so in we went.

I remember when we were there last we skipped it 'cause it didn't sound like it would be very good. Kicking myself now.

I must admit that when this attraction was first announced I was very skeptical. I really didn't think it would take off and I thought it would be rather lame.

See. Great minds think alike.

I have no idea why I thought it though.

We enjoyed the show and afterward Caitlin was feeling inspired so she decided to try out herself. Now this took a lot of bravery on her part because she hasn't sung before an audience in years. In middle and high school she was always in choir but she pretty much stopped singing after she graduated. So she got up her nerve and went in

Good for Caitlin! :thumbsup2

While she was inside I took some pics of the area and grabbed her a fast pass for Star Tours.

You know your daughter!

When she came out she had a big smile on her face which looked like a great sign! She told me it was a fun experience and they told her she had a great voice but lacked confidence. They also told her if they hadnt already had country singers chosen for the next show she would have been in and she was fine with that. They told her to believe in herself and come back again :)

That's great! Way to go Caitlin!

I'm going to end here because I know Caitlin will want to tell you about the very cute boys we met when we returned that evening ;)

Oh boy! Cute boys! I can't wait...

No, I can.

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

We don't ever remember hearing the sounds before either. I don't know if it is usually too noisy with guests or what :confused3

We didn't see Phineus and Ferb then, but....

The Cobb salad is worth going to the Brown Derby for! I will go back but have that for my entree :)

She is braver than I :)

No, I can.

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes

These cute boys are tv stars and we had a lot of fun hanging out with them :)

Oh, American Idol concerts are so much fun! I went to one the year Jordin Sparks won AI, which I still believe was the best year (well maybe that year and the one with the Davids) and it was absolutely stunning! We were in the very front row which was even better! Best concert period. Glad you guys had a good time, it looked like there was a great batch of talent this year for AI ::yes::

Now to the update... Oh, I totally felt the same way about the AI experience. I thought it would be bad since when I went to it for the first time it was the year that Simon and Paula left and the show was really losing talent (Kris Allen :P), but it really is a fun show like you said. Glad to hear Caitlin auditioned and she was very positive about the outcome, seems like they have nice judges in there. I'm really starting to consider trying out for the AI experience, sounds more intriguing than my initial thoughts (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

P.S. Happy Late Birthday! (just noticed that today (: )

It was a lot of fun and we had great seats so it was a great night :)

We're looking forward to going back in Sept and we're hoping Phillip Phillips will be added to the show by then.

Thank you :)

Glad you guys had fun at the AI concert! My sisters and I used to go every year but lately we haven't been going. :( I was so mad when Colton got voted off this season. :sad2:

That's awesome Caitlin auditioned! :thumbsup2

This was the first year in a long time where we stuck with the show all season. We usually stop watching when our favorites get voted off but this year our favorite won :) Caitlin was so bummed about Colton too.

Thanks, she had fun :)

Hey everyone! Sorry we have been so slow with this! I have been working like crazy and I honestly don't know where this summer has gone! Good news is I have a year round job now! I was working at Lowe's seasonally and they decided to keep me on! So y'all know what that means DISNEY SHOPPING MONEY! :rotfl2: On next trip news my dad and I will be going to Hollywood Horror Nights at Universal! They just announced they are doing a Walking Dead zone this year so since it is one of our favorite shows we are going!

But let's get back to this trip shall we?

When we last left off we had headed back to the pool for some sunbathing after about an hour we headed back. When we walked in a very nice mother and daughter gave me their Rock N Roller fast passes. We had a mission to accomplish there were two very cute boys awaiting us at DHS. They could wait while I took some Photopass pictures...

After my brief photo shoot we headed back towards our men. If you haven't guessed by now we were going to meet Phineas and Ferb! I am a huge fan of this show and I really wanted to meet them! If you haven't heard about this line it is a very entertaining experience!

Their wait time starts off with a director running out and pumping up the group. The boys are making a summer vacation video and we get to be the stars in it! There is a ton of singing and dancing and it is such a great atmosphere!

disneyday4407.jpg

Oh and I got chosen to be in their FABULOUS contest. Yep I got to sing, dance and pose in DHS...Yep you know me I absolutely hated it ;)

disneyday4413.jpg

disneyday4414.jpg

Look at me get down! Yep I have the moves like Jagger...

disneyday4419.jpg

There is a Photopass person taking pictures during the experience but we forgot to have the pics put on our card so we never got to see my awesome pose :worried:

disneyday4422.jpg

After a ton of fun it was time to meet the boys! I went up first and took some solo pics.

disneyday4428.jpg

Now my mom is Ferb fan but when she walked up Phineas was reaching out to her. My mom who is known for her tact..said "I don't want him I like the other one." Yeah she hurt Phineas's feelings..

disneyday4430.jpg

But I cheered him up :thumbsup2

After my mom was done snubbing celebrities where were we headed...

I'm so happy you guys posted. :woohoo:

I'm so bummed I can't see your pictures right now. :headache:

I can't believe you forgot to scan some of your PP pics. Bummer!

Score on the RnR FP's!

Yeah for getting a full time, year round job!

The Universal Halloween activites do sound very cool. I love that kind of stuff even though it scare the crap out of me. :rotfl:

Thank you for reading!

I think they would have been awesome so we were pretty upset that night when we realized we had forgotten.

I rode RnR a lot that night!

I was so excited!

I am the exact same way! I know it will scare me but I figured I wouldn't have many chances to go around Halloween so I needed to take the opportunity when it presented itself!

I'm here!

I missed the American Idol update, that's great that Caitlin was able to audition! My BIL auditioned last year and he got to the to the 2nd round, by the time he got there they actually only had 1 spot left to fill and he wasn't what they "were looking for"

Fun Phineas and Ferb Pics!
