Details of Royal Bedchamber in Cinderella Castle

Some details have been released about the Royal Bedchamber suite in Cinderella Castle which will be awarded to guests for an overnight stay at the Magic Kingdom as part of the Years of a Million Dreams.

A new entrance is being constructed, where guests will be greeted by a bellman who will escort them up to the suite by a an elevator. The room is 650 square feet, and plans to sleep 4-6 people, offering video games and wireless internet access.

The general design is to recreate a realistic castle interior with stonework, coffered ceilings, and French-period styling.

That pretty much describes the interior of the dining room in the castle--minus the video-games and the internet! I have always loved the inside of the castle (stone and french styling, with wood beams and coffered ceilings). I think it will look similar to that, and also be very plush and romantic. :thumbsup2

Oh Gosh, when are we going to find out who the winner is?!!?!?!?!!?
I'll be there on the 2nd through the 6th....Maybe I'll see that Red Carpet! Too bad it wasn't me... :guilty:

Hope he's not wearing a TOT costume! :scared1:

This sounds so awesome!! We are going to be there in December, but I read in the prize details that they won't begin giving away nights in the royal bed chamber until January 2007. I guess I will just have to go back then, too!! I would LOVE to win this!!

If anyone read the book Disney Wars, you would have noticed there was a section described in the book where an "unfinished" area in the castle {as I recall was described as the area where the Disney apartment was supposed to be} was used by female cast members to change costumes, and there were "peep" holes and security cameras in the area. Hopefully, they have removed those by now. :confused3

:rotfl2: is that a deam of a lifetime to stay in the castle????????

I am swooning as I write this :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

does anyone know if after the "dreams" prizes are all given out..

will they eventually rent this room or will it revert to just part of the castle?

wondering if celebs will be privy to this at a later date

Staying in the castle sounds like a life-time experience, but (gasp!) in reality what a hassle. You've got to rush back to your hotel and pack up for a night then get back to MK with all your stuff (internet access?--like I want to lug the laptop into Cindy's castle). If the park is open late, no getting to bed at a decent hour, cranky kids the next day, and your ADR's are all screwed up. They put a value of over $500/night for it. If we win, I think I might sub-let.

I do hope that they allow people to reserve this room after the dream celebrations. I would kill for a chance to stay in the castle!! I would gladly shell out the big bucks to do so - it would be a dream come true for me!!

That would be a lot of fun! We don't have kids, yet, but that really does sound like fun. :thumbsup2

How can you enter the contest ??? I'd love to stay up there !!! :wizard:

It is not something you enter. During the span of this new event, Disney is dispatching special "squads" of CMs all around the property to pick folks at random for supposedly thousands of prizes, through out the time of the new celebration. Someone posted a list of prizes on another site, if I could just recall where I saw it......... :confused3

So they pick who they want to win? HMM....does not sound all that great to me b/c they are never going to pick couple with an 18 year old son. Does not make for cute pictures. I predict, honeymooners, and people with good looking kids will win the prizes. I am cynical but I HOPE I am wrong.

Has the sweepstakes started already ?
It's not a sweepstakes. See my post #15 on page 1.

Well, you can enter it via mail-in entries, though. There was a discussion about that process in this thread. The exact odds for mail-in entries were never settled, but the odds should be at least as good as the odds of winning if you're in the park.

Also, my understanding (I might be totally off, here) is that (for the YOMD giveaways), the selection mechanism would be more objective - i.e. the first person to enter such and such a line after 10:07 a.m. or something, rather than by letting the cast members choose. I also understand there are other "dreams" they are giving away on various rides that don't have monetary value, that the cast members do get to choose. These are things like "move to the front of the line" or help with some aspect of the ride or something.
