DEST EE 5K PTR - 19days Apr/May-(I'm BaaaaaCK!)

I loved EE which we tried for the first time last year! The problem was afterwards - I was sooooo dizzy after just one ride that I had to sit down for a few minutes after walking off of it. Actually was kind of surprised by that. I used to be able to go on all kinds of rides multiple times without getting dizzy or more. I must be getting old

By the way, which part of the park is that where you took the picture with the Tree of Life in the background? For some reason, I'm having hard time placing the location.

Our whole family took turns with the flu last week and weekend. So I haven't done much running in about 2 weeks either! No worries though, we'll get back to it, right? Time for us to start delivering Girl Scout cookies, so there's exercise walking up and down the street! :lmao:

AK plans look good!

oh no!!! I'm so sorry you all got sick! DD and DH never got a thing from me so we were lucky - well dd has a cold but she had that before I got sick. and YES - we just get right back at it :thumbsup2
I get my exercise walking also by helpind DD deliver her flyers 2 times/week. The route is too long for her at an hour and a half so we split it into two and I do one half for her. I use the money to put towards our trip (except her half of course which she just banks) and I use it as a GREAT excuse to be out walking as much as possible to prepare for our trip b/c as I've said before I am usually a pretty sedentary person. I'm sure hoping it helps me to keep up with my two energizer bunnies in the parks day after day this time.

I have learned that rides that make me dizzy are the ones that go backwards. i learned it the hard way  when dd was young she wanted to go on some fair swings and I thought being the good mommy i would take the seat facing backwards so i could keep a good eye on her - that BLEW up in my face!!! I was SO awefully sick after that i spent a half hour leaning over an amusement park toilet bowl  How gross is that I know!!!!!
SO I know EE has a portion that does go backwards so I actually rotate my body to face the direction it's going and i have not been sick on it yet.
I also think Soarin bugs me b/c my brain is getting the sensations that I'm moving due to the motion from the seat and from the view but your not actually moving the way your mind things you are so i think its too much messing with my mind and makes me nauseus. For this reason I'm not sure how well i will do on The new Harry Potter ride but i guess time will tell.
I'm sorry you felt ill after it. I just love coasters so much but i know my days are numbered as i get older. lol

Oh, almost forogt. I can't remember exactly where that is but I THINK it's the area near where DeVine shows up - there is a little path off to the side and if you follow it in and around there is a little hidden gem of an area. i wish we had found it during a better time of the day though so the sun wasn't so high b/c if the sun was lower it would have made a better shot.

First off - I FINALLY got in a 5K run. Don't think i've done one since before I got sick around Christmas time but it was H.A.R.D!!!!!! :scared: i think I need to get more of those back into my schedule again.

Now for more FUN STUFF!! We did a theme night (sooner than we thought we would) but we decided last minute to do it so we didn't make it Dinner and a movie but instead just settled for DESSERT & A MOVIE.

So, here is our CARS 2 NIGHT - in honour of DH going the exotic Car experience on our trip. (he fell asleep half way through it btw)

CARS 2

We made little cars out of little twinkie type cakes, pretzels, marshmallows, and M&Ms...

Some MATER's OIL SUNDAEs with a little stop light fun added...
452.jpg

and some Clink and Clunk (or clank) MIX

I just looked up the ideas online without having even seen the show yet so when we were watching we came to the part where Mater leaks oil and Lightening McQueen tells him to go clean himself up and DD says - EW!!! IS that what we just ATE THEN?!?! :lmao: ROFL I said - well ya, I guess so. That was definitely good for a laugh :lmao:

DD invited a friend over so we got to share it with someone which was nice especially since DH fell asleep :sad1: oh well - i know he's not a cartoon guy.

Next theme night we hope to do a full meal too and not just dessert. i might just invite DH for the dinner part and tell him to just go on to bed for the movie.:goodvibes

that was a really awesome theme night!!!!! :thumbsup2
i loved it!
Can we have some more Mater oil (Mater pee) sundae now????:goodvibes

I am just loving these theme nights i' m seeing here on the boards.
The desserts look like a lot of fun and yummy to

thanks all - it WAS yummy and FUN too!!! :goodvibes
i can't wait to do a full meal but it'll be awhile yet b/c of other things going on. i've still got lots of other things to post anyway though :)

I just had to pop on to show off my BEAUTIFUL birthday gift!!! I have been waiting a LOOOONG time for one of these but dh kept skipping it and selecting other things b/c he just figured i wasn't a bracelet kind of a girl. Well he's right actually HAHA:rotfl: But for som reason I was just always SO drawn to these gorgeous bracelets!!! So when he asked what i wanted I said i have nothing on my list unless you want to go for the bracelet. He tried getting more things out of me but this is just the only thing i wanted. haha. So... I got my bracelet :) YAY:woohoo::banana: and now i'm going to try and be a GOOD bracelet kind of a gal!!:lmao:

purple is for me - blue is for DD - white is for Dh - hearts for love - stars for... i guess b/c i'm his lucky star??? haha

Look, isn't it pretty????????
bracelet.jpg

It's a knock off by the way. The real ones are just too rich for our blood.

Your Cars dessert looks really cool! The ice cream as oil is a really cool idea, might have to steal that. :rotfl:

Yay for your DH getting you your bday gift! It's very pretty, and I'm sure since you like it so much you'll become a bracelet wearer. :thumbsup2

:bday:

So glad your husband came around and and bought you your bracelet, it's beautiful :)

Thanks for the birthday wish :)
and by all means anyone is welcome to steal any ideas i post - i learned most of it from here anyway. ;) LOL If i come across the GIGANTIC thread i saw all about Disney Theme nights i will post it on here.

Have you seen one of these before???

foam.jpg

Well, since i started running I've been having some slight problems with my hamstring. Not enough to stop running (except for a few days when it first started bugging me) but instead of bugging DH to always rub it I went ahead and bought a foam roller for an easy way to rub my hammies. It works GREAT however...

it's ALSO LOTS OF FUN to do THIS....

Foam-Roller-Balance.jpg

as a matter of fact i leave it out in the living room b/c dd and I play on it a few times each day just massaging our feet and balancing on it.

Weeellllll, unfortunately today I learned a VERY important lesson... the HARD WAY :crazy2:

when i did THIS.....

OUCHIE OUCHIE OUCH OUCH!!!!
It REALLY REALLY hurt!!! It hurt more than when i slipped on the ice while doing flyers this winter but I'm pretty sure it was b/c i just lost my balance and instead of just falling on my butt my legs actually flew out in front of me from the force of the wobbling foam roller and they flew up into the air while my back end and tailbone came crashing down on the hardwood floor! DH came running SO FAST and he kept asking me if i was ok but i honestly didn't know. It HURT!!!!! and i was in shock for a minute or two i think b/c I felt like crying but I was doing a bit of moaning and a bit of that nervous laugh that you do when your not sure how to react to something :scared: Ya, i was a bit of a crazy lady for a few minutes and DH just kept asking me if i was ok. I finally had to say I Don't KNOW!!! Just give me a minute but i moved my legs and said i can move my legs so i must be fine!!! So in order to help out somewhat he ran to get me an ice pack and slid a soft blanket and the ice pack under my butt. I just sat there on it for a few minutes trying to get my bearings!!!!! As the pain subsided we figured i was ok but i will most likely feel it for the next few days. I was already achy trying to get up so i've been sitting on an ice pack alternated with heating pad all evening.

Now it hurts only when i do certain movements - movements that you don't even realize you would use that tailbone area for such as getting up from sitting or from on the ground. We've been trying different stretches to see what will stretch out that area in hopes of helping it out a bit but it's a real tough spot to get at and i just know i'm SSOOOO going to be suffering tomorrow.

In hindsight i sure wish i could have seen that acrobatic feat on video!!!:rotfl: i just chuckle at the thought of my feet flying forward up into the air and me crashing down on my rear end :scared1: it must have been something spectacular :lmao: i knew it as soon as DH came FLYING over so fast  and he said the whole darn house shook!!:rotfl2:
and i was RIGHT beside the DARN coffee table - i am SSOOO freaking lucky I didn't hit that!!!!!!!!

OI - i have to laugh now b/c I don't know how much I'll feel like laughing about it tomorrow :sad2:

i will keep you posted on how i'm doing but it's a good think I got a whole 5K run in this week b/c i'm pretty sure I'm now done for the week.

Ooooh, ouch! I hope you continue to feel OK. Yikes, that sounded scary! I had a similar incident outside, running backwards helping my DD learn how to rollerskate. Tripped on the uneven sidewalk and crashed much like you did - right on the tailbone, right on the cement sidewalk. Couldn't cry or complain since the kids were right there..... ;) I later had a really dark, really ugly bruise in the area - thank goodness nobody could see it!!! :lmao: Be careful!

Hope you feel better soon! Falling like that can be such a shock! Glad you're all right, though, aside from some pain.

I can definitely see where you'd need to take a rest from running, just to get everything feeling better!

Thanks you two:hug: The first few days i spent alot of time on heating pad and ice pack as well as being careful how i moved. Yesterday i was up and at em but if I bent wrong or lifted something heavy i would regret it. Today alot of the stiffness is gone but still the bending and just certain movements will get me so i need to be careful when bending and getting up. I can sit straight up with no problems but if i sort of roll back onto the spine area (like when you go to lay down from sitting) there is a small area that is EXTREMELY painful. So i just have to avoid certain movements. I hope to start running again this week but i want to be sure i'm good and ready first.

so - i don't plan to post my running since i only got one day in - I'll wait and do my full Feb update in a few days and hopefully soon I'll get another park plan day up but it doesn't look like anyone is dying of suspense since i havn't had a lot of viewers lately so i won't bother rushing.

thanks for your concern :) I will DEFINITELY not be balancing on that thing again!!! lol:sad2:

I'm so sorry. Hope it heals up soon! Reminds me of the time when I slipped on the stairs and landed on my back. Hurt for days. :sad1:

ouch!! i've fallen down stairs but they were carpeted - it HURTS!!!! Today I'm still having a hard time getting up and down and bending. :sad1:I get the feeling it's going to be awhile before i can do those thiings without feeling it.

Ugh, I fell down my stairs just the other night. My hip and behind hurt all weekend. Not to mention my pride took a pretty big plummet.

I'm sure you muscles are still pretty stiff from the fall. Just give yourself plenty of time to rest and heal and here soon you should be on the uphill side of recovery!:thumbsup2

ugh back to the drawing board. I accidently x'd off the screen so i'm starting again :(

My niece didn't show up today so I got caught up on work this am and now have time for my next days plans...

DAY 4 - EPCOT!

Arrrive 45 min before opening time
me FP SOARIN while
DD & DH ride SOARIN (I don't do well on this one for some reason)
ride NEMO
DH grab MS FP when the time is right
view SEAS AQUARIUMS (munch on snacks)
DD And DH use FP for SOARIN
View INNOVENTIONS E&W (not sure how long we'll need but I gave 50 min. total)
use MS FP's
MEXICO (ride FIESTA)
NORWAY ( ride MAELSTROM & eat school bread at Kringla Bakerie)
CHINA (watch the show possibly)
GERMANY
ITALY
US (eat at Liberty Inn) - this will be a late lunch I'm thinking around the 3:30 mark.
JAPAN (hoping to buy some Bento lunch box stuff :goodvibes)
MOROCCO
FRANCE
UK
CANADA

I have given 15 min plus extra time if there is a specific activity for each country. From past experience i know that we will just quickly walk through some in less than 15 and take more time in others so I'm hoping this will work out ok - we do hope to come back for an evening too sometime and if we miss anything we can catch it then)
This could put us at aprox. 5:30 and we will catch whatever we missed on our way out such as figment (athought dd is saying no to that one now lol), Kodak Labs, Club Cool, and Spaceship Earth will be our last stop)

I have since learned they will have some butterly area too so we will want to work that in somewhere. I will plan for it on our way out unless it says it's only open earlier in the day then we'll squeeze it in on our way to World Showcase i guess. Thanks for the info on
that "DaveinFallsChurch" :goodvibes

So that's EPCOT in a nutshell! We intened to come back for an evening experience to soak up some atmosphere and see Illuminations.

Now. let me see what pictures I can dig out from our time at Epcot...

FAVORITE RIDE AT EPCOT IS TT - too bad it'll be closes :sad1:

ok, i better stop. I'm off to get some house cleaning done now. How very exciting hey??? LOL

Joining in late. Great trip report. I'm also on the April thread.
I used to run in college when I was a lifeguard. Those days are long gone:laughing:.
We  EE too!
We stayed at Universal the past 2 years for early entry to HP. It is the best!!
We are big HP fans around here. DH and DS14 have read all the books.
We weren't going to IOA this year b/c we're just staying a week and couldn't stay on site. But my boys were devistated so my mom and dad are buying them a 1 day ticket as a surprise for their b-day. I'm a little nervous b/c we've never been w/out early entry. I hope it's not too bad.
So jealous of your long vacation!! You're so lucky! Is your DD missing a lot of school?
