DEST EE 5K PTR - 19days Apr/May-(I'm BaaaaaCK!)

I learned I'm a treadmill and fair weather runner too!! :thumbsup2 That cold air is harsh on my lungs too. Plus I just don't like being cold! Too bad we live in cold winter places. :lmao: Yep, same goal here - no desire to win for speed, only to finish. Standing up. ;)

oh thank goodness there are others out there like me :goodvibes:goodvibes DH couldn't BELEIVE how badly i was doing. He thought i was going to totally kick his butt but I just kept having to stop. i stopped 3 times in 1K!:guilty: Oh well, I got on that treadmill that evening to prove i was still capable of going without stopping so much.

I sure hope the pattern of nice weather keeps up and I'm able to get outside running sooner than our normal spring warmth hits.

Your countdown looks great! And I know what you mean about Home Depot, I always look so guilty when I am trying to swipe a few paint chips. :rotfl:

I can't imagine what it must be like to run in cold weather. The coolest I've ever attempted to run in is, like, 50 degrees, and I thought I was dying. I would probably be like you and have to stick with the treadmill. But don't let that discourage you. And the positive news is, by the time of the race, the weather will most likely be in the 80's. So you won't have an additional concern about what your lungs are going to feel like to have to worry about!:thumbsup2

I think it's great that you are sticking with the running. It's bound to be easier as the weather gets nicer!

That is so cool that your daughter gets to take surfing lessons. How exciting for her!

I love your countdown calendar. My youngest had her picture taken with the minions when we went to IOA in December of 2010, it's one of my favorite pictures ever...

You're count down calendar is AWESOME Kim! I love it!! We always do stuff like that and the kids never seem to get too 'old' for it. :goodvibes

You're doing SO great with your running. Don't be too discouraged about the outdoor run. I have the same issues with cold - I have mild asthma and the only thing that really triggers it (other than when I am sick) is cold air and heavy cardio. Treadmill for me too!!!:thumbsup2

:rotfl: I know!! the GUILT hey??? I always justify it saying that Disney MUST know what goes on with these paint chips and I'm sure they are always fine with sending extra in anticipation of it happening but I STILL feel bad :guilty: For our location they have all the paint chips down one aisle but the Disney ones are RIGHT on the END of the aisle so I can't help but wonder WHY?? :confused3 Is it to deter people from doing it b/c there are more people that can see you from that spot??? Or is that just my paranoid mind??? lol

ya, it'll be BEAUTIFUL out on race day!! EVEN if it's colder than normal for them it can't be colder than here  so I'll definitely have that advantage :thumbsup2 I'm thinking humidity will be good for my lungs too b/c they won't get tight and constricted - usually when I'm coughing lots b/c of the tightness putting my face over steam or having a steamy shower will help loosen things up so the humid weather doesn't scare me either. I really don't know why I still live in this frigid cold place!!:sad2:

I am so excited for her to surf too!! PLUS I'm glad it'll be in a controlled environment with trained instructors :goodvibes so it's win win - I would have been awefully nervous of her attempting it on her own on a beach :scared1: Now I can just sit back, video it and relax :) When her and I were in Hawaii we got caught up in a rouge wave - it scared us both a bit and I lost my precious perscription sunglasses. After that I was more nervous of her in the water far out even though i don't need to be as she's an awesome swimmer and working towards her lifeguarding classes.

Glad to see you back Sandy!! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that can't run in cold. DH LOVES it so much that he'd rather be outside even if it's cold and icy. I don't get it but he's a work horse so I'm not surprised. lol

Well, I don't have an update to do today b/c I'm a day late in my last run of the week. I was LAZY last night so I'm hoping to get on the treadmill this afternoon and then have an update to post tomorrow.

Instead of running DD and I planned out our next few months!! It's gonna be chock full of stuff - Valentines Day, My BDAY on 22nd, her BDAY on March 8, then some Disney dinner/movie nights after that to take us to the end. We are planning a Harry Potter night, a Cars 2 night and a Toy Story 3 night for sure. If we feel we have time we'll add more but I'm not sure we can b/c she's SOOO busy!!! She already has to squeeze in flyer delivery 3 times/week (and so do I), she's doing a community project for all of Feb that has her busy doing good deeds and jobs around the house as well as working in the nursery at church and going to the Humane Society (so that all effects how busy I am too), and she's on a band practice competition til the end of Feb as well so has to be practicing every day for that. Add in the other things I mentioned (Val day/ my bday and planning her bday) and we are too busy for any disney nights this month.

ugh! The time has come to do my run and I'm dragging my butt. But I am determined to do it anyway. If I don't get it done in the next hour and a half I will be out of luck b/c i'm going babysitting this evening (extra holiday cash:goodvibes). OK, so now i've let you all know I have lost motivation momentarily but I am making myself accountable to you. If I don't post my third run tomorrow i give you all permission to BLAST me k???

off to try and get my motivation back.

"]MINI UPDATE - 1st 2 weeks of FEBRUARY,

Well, i'm happy to say i did get a run in yesterday - YAY me!!! I did NOT want to but i did it. Anyway, on to my accountability update and then a little about some disney/universal dinner/movie nights we want to plan...

This was my rest week...
FEB 1 - 1K - didn't even get a time - just greatful i did something

on to the next week...
FEB 5 - 1K outside - this was AWEFUL!!! My lungs burned and i ended up coughing for an hour!!! and that was after my lungs bruned for a half hour after running. Back to the treadmill for me!
same day - (10's) 3.69K in 34min
total for FEB 5 was 4.69K

FEB 7 - (5's) 3.30K in 28.40min

FEB 11 - (20's) 3.48K in 30min - this was a day late and i still didn't want to run but made myself accountable on here and felt i needed to follow through b/c of that. PHEW!! good thing i can come on here when i feel like being lazy :thumbsup2

Total for week 1 FEB - 1K - epic fail!!
Total for week 2 FEB - 11.47K

So, here's hoping my motivation comes back this week :goodvibes

So on to other stuff - DD and I want to get in some Dinner/Movie nights. I see it lots on the boards and hadn't thought of doing it but when dd saw a few she decided it's a MUST. We have selected 3 movies but it'll take awhile to get to them b/c she has SOOO many commitments for school this month with a band practice competition going on and a community participation project going on - those plus her flyers are going to suck up every spare moment she's got so we'll wait til next month to start.

Here is our list of movies we will do...

:wizard:Harry Potter (We still havn't seen the very last one)
:car:Cars2 - goes perfect with Dh's exotic car experience he will do - lol
:yoda:Toy Story 3 - We have YET to ride TSM so we thought this one was appropriate too.

We havn't seen any of these movies and I'm looking forward to having some cool dinners with things like chocolate frogs, troll eyes, butterbeer (HP), wasabi & sushi & Fillmores organic oil (C2), Mr Tortilla Heads and alien cucumbers (TS3).
I will be SURE to share pictures of our theme nights when we have them :) :)

We were happy to take off our 1st paperclip from our countdown today!! So now we are at 5 weeks (5 more paperclips) and 39 days(39 mickey heads). :cool1:

Great movie choices, all 3 of them are wonderful films. And very fitting for your trip! I never thought about matching a movie to a To-Do list for a vacation. :thumbsup2
And you have to catch TSM this time around. The wait is ridiculous, but with FPs it's such an interesting attraction.

LOL the matching is actually pure coincidental :rotfl::rotfl2: we just picked the ones we hadn't seen yet. Well Harry Potter was planned b/c we hadn't seen any of them so we wanted to be educated on it before going to Harry Potter land. I'm very excited to do them - our first one will be late next week!! YAY!!!

just a little edit to add that DAY 1 will be spent on the plane and in airports. We arrive around supper - will hit the store for some groceries then get settled at the condo.

1366DISNEY.jpg

oi, seeing all the pics is making me want to go even more now!!! 71 more day!!!!

and for the record - in case you havn't already figured it out our top things to do in MK are...
1. space
2. splash
3. pirates of the carribean
4. haunted mansion
5. Dole Whip Float (we'll squeeze one in on one of our trips there).

You've got a handle on things. You're a touring pro!!

I had to laugh at the bird poop. I was pooped on on two separate trips, but in the exact same spots! Nov. 98 and March 03, I was standing on the bridge to Tomorrowland gazing at the castle, then splat! It landed on the back of my baby cow (calf ;) ) both times!! Weird stuff. I don't stand there anymore.

Yay for first park day!!!!! Love your plan and your pics are adorable - your poor daughter and the bird poop! My daughter would have FREAKED, hahahaha! Smart mom with wet wipes! ;)

Got to the gym tonight and finally got on the treadmill after my weights! There have been sooooo many people there and it's been really hard to get on! It felt good to get running again, but boy, did I huff and puff! Amazing how quickly it goes way, isn't it? Gotta keep thinking about our April trip and having to wear a bathing suit! hahahah!

I love how you have stuff so planned out and are READY! I wish I had a "big" trip planned. I have a general idea I'm going, but dates aren't worked out yet and I'm kinda sitting on my hands right now.

Aaahh, the bird poop in the hair. I've never had it happen at WDW, but I HAVE had it happen elsewhere. I was at WDW for my dance nationals back in the 90s and on our first day we were all walking down the street at MK when suddenly a bird landed in her (very hairsprayed and teased) hair. When it tried to take off, it was stuck. I have a serious of humorous pictures that depict this happening (yes, none of us tried to help her, most of us were taking pictures. :rotfl:). Birds are nuts!

Love your pics - those dream FPs are awesome; I wish I could have gone to WDW while the Year of a Million Dreams came out.

Joining in late! Love your PTR so far! :thumbsup2

SO glad you joined in:goodvibes but dont worry - your not late - i started WAAAAYYY early! lol. :rotfl: It's all I can do to keep myself sane while I wait.

Thanks!!!:goodvibes i have another word for it and that is anal!!:upsidedow:laughing: I love to have it all figured out and I plugged my schedule into RideMax today and it looks like I'm pretty close but the seconds rides in the am on Space and Buzz might not be a go. We are ok with that though. The rest seems like it'll be totally DOable :thumbsup2 We should be out of the park no later than 3pm and off to our condo for a nice relaxing swim/soak and supper.
and you know - it was in TomorrowLand that she got pooped on too!!:rotfl2: So lets all just be aware that the birds by Tomorrowland are to be avoided at ALL COSTS!!!! haha

Hahaha, If i recall correctly she did have quite the melt down!!! I think I went through 3 or 4 wipes to convince her it really was all cleaned out. She was NOT happy at all :headache: and especially b/c we had just been sitting there so nicely tossing them little bits of bread to eat. She thought that was the most aweful thing they could do after we fed them

and i am still huffing and puffing - but getting a bit better all the time:goodvibes We have to keep focused on how good we are going to look for sure or else we might give up :sad2: Looking good in a swimsuit is definitely good motivation though.

haha, I'm organized b/c i have a problem!!! I'm a Disney comando!!! DH and DD were apalled at the pace i set our first time using commando techniques but after we got SO much done with next to no waits they were ahead of me on the way to each ride and couldn't thank me enough. Sooo, I do the exact same thing each time we go and I LOVE IT!!!! :lovestruc We often joke about not waiting longer than 10 minutes for anything and even in real life if we are in a long line we just shake our heads and say "why are we doing this?? We don't even wait this long for theme park rides" LOL it's a sickness I think.
and OH MY GOSH that poor girl to have a bird stuck in her hair!!! I would be hysterical!!!!! but afterwards I'm sure it was HILARIOUS to remember!!! Glad you got pics of it.

We are adding another theme night to our plans!!! I think the Lorax is coming out in March and i found some Dr. Seuss crafts reduced at a craft store today so we will go to the movie theatre and make a craft (book marks). not as exciting as themed food but fun anyway. i'll have to add that to my other post listing our theme nights.

Thanks so much for following along. i know i can talk alot - it's really only online though. LOL i'm actually more of a listerner in real life.

I finally made it to you PTR!!!!!

Let me tell you- your hotels are GORGEOUS and that Countdown Calendar is AMAZING!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see pics of your Disney nights!!!!!

Thanks Janine  We are SO excited about our condo b/c of the space, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms, the pool, giant chess set, and only 2min drive from our door to entry to WDW and only $70/night!!!. and of course what's NOT to like about Royal Pacific Resort at Universal?!?! We've NEVER EVER splurged like that before so we are going to feel like royalty princess:

and DD just LOVES the count down :) tomorrow we get to take off another paperclip (week) and then we are at 4 weeks (paperclips) and 39 days!! yay!

So glad you came by. Hope you'll stop by oftern :goodvibes

First off I will explain that I didn't do all that great with running this week:sad2: I got the FLU!!! on of all days Valentines Day!! (luckily we did our supper out the night before... but still :sad1:) so I didn't get on the treadmill til Thursday and then figured i'd better not overdo it after not eating much at all for 3 days so i did 2.5K in 19.50 min. on Thursday and Then on Saturday I was in the mid of a GREAT run when my daughters friends showed up over an hour early so I stopped b/c I just didn't want to be sweating and running in front of 5 giggly girls. LOL so I ended up getting in 3K in 23.40 min. making my total for this week a whopping 5.5K:lmao:

ok, on to more EXCITING things!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

on to DAY 3 ...... ANIMAL KINGDOM!

You will EASILY figure out the priorities for this day :goodvibes

opening at 9am
we will arrive aprox. 8 - 8:15 and hope for an early opening :thumbsup2
FP1 EE
ride EE (if early entry we may ride again)
ride DINO
FP2 EE
ride KALI RIVER RAPIDS
use FP1 for EE (grab another FP3 if it's time afterwards)
LINE UP FOR FOTLK (eat snacks in line - muffins/grapes)
us FP2 for EE
FP 4 EE
Fit in a show or two - ITTBAB or FLIGHTS OF WONDER
view an ANIMAL TRAIL or two
use up FP's 3 and 4 when time comes
LEAVE around 3pm

Now this is a tight schedule but we are totally ok if we don't get the 4th FP in for EE especially b/c if DD REALLY wants to get in one more ride we can always single rider line it now that she's going to be 14 on this trip. I sure am crossing my fingers for the early entry though even if it just helps us to get out of the park earlier and back to the condo to relax and rest up for our next day which will be a LOOONGG day at Epcot. then on Monday I have a rest day scheduled so I can catch up on some energy. haha I work on a computer all day and watch my very mellow 4 year old niece so i'm not used to spending my entire day on the move and i tend to nap a few times a week even on a mellow schedule that I have. Sooo - rest times are very important for me. plus i like to have LOTS of time to download photos of our day, update Facebook, my TR on DIS and Dd's blog which her classmates will be following while we are gone.

ok, so now let's see what pictures i have from AK.....

1st up - family picture with the Tree of Life in the background..

Our whole family took turns with the flu last week and weekend. So I haven't done much running in about 2 weeks either! No worries though, we'll get back to it, right? Time for us to start delivering Girl Scout cookies, so there's exercise walking up and down the street! :lmao:

AK plans look good!
