Desserts and dining plan

I thought I had read in another thread ( and am sorry because I can't find it) that IF you are on the dining plan and full after your meal and don't want the dessert right then you can ask them to mark the receipt and get a snack elsewhere in the park at a later time when you are hungry for it...is that true? If so is it only for the TS meals (can't remember if CS gets dessert but if they do can you do it for this meal also??)

I don't think they do this.... I think you kind of forfeit your dessert if you don't order it at that meal. Now, I know that you can order dessert and have them pack it to go. I've done that before ( not on the dining plan) and it's kind of nice to have a little something later on in the night. If it's hot though, you have to be careful with what you choose so it doesn't melt. :goodvibes

No, they don't do this. You have to use your entitlements at the time of the meal, or you lose them. You can get certain desserts "to go", basically, just put straight into a "doggy bag" container, but that won't help with the more perishable items.

At a limited number of CS locations, you get your receipt stamped and have up to 90 minutes to return for your dessert. This is principally for frozen items that might melt before you get to the end of your meal.

My personal solution: eat dessert first, then you don't have to worry about it! :thumbsup2

The only thing like that, that I have heard of is at POP Century's food court.

If you ask the cashier to mark your receipt you can come back for an ice cream sundae within 90 mins. That way you can eat without the ice cream melting.

That is the only place I have heard of.

At the places that will mark your receipt for ice cream, you must go back to the same restaurant to get the ice cream. You can't redeem the ice cream at a different restaurant.

At TS meals, you must order all components at the time of your seating, or lose your entitlement to that component. You can order dessert and take it with you, but you can't return for a dessert later. Also, the TS restaurants don't do carryout orders.

While it is true that certain locations will stamp your receipt for return for frozen desserts, IMO it is hardly worth the trouble. Say you eat your meal and want to come back for dessert later. So you spend time selecting your meals and beverages, standing in line to pay, finding a table, eating (20 to 30 minutes gone already) .... then you want to go and do something for a while before you come back. An hour is hardly enough time to get much done before having to return to the CS location, line up again .... etc.

Now at the food courts, if they will do it and you are relaxing outside or at the pool, fair enough. However I don't think it is worth the effort in the parks.
