I am contemplating attending this event. I have read some reviews but they are a little dated. I would love to see the fireworks. We have a reservation at Yachtsman at 6:45 p.m. and the dessert party has availability at 8:30 p.m. However, Yachtsman has some openings earlier in the evening and I could possibly change our adr to an earlier time.

The time slot for the dessert party states 8:30 p.m. Do the fireworks start later and they have you arrive for the desserts at 8:30? I wonder if we would have enough time to get to HS after our dinner. And, I guess a really big concern is how full we will be from dinner and would this be a waste of $69.00 but we would be guaranteed a viewing location.

This is a short trip (4 days) so I really want to make a good use of our time. Any thoughts on this plan?

Thanks!

i would make dinner as early as possible. Both to allow travel time and to be able to actually enjoy the desserts!

Agree with the above. Make dinner as early as possible so you are not rushed through either event. I think if the dessert party is at 8:30 the fireworks are at 9:45

I've not done the one at HS but the one at MK was a waste of money. Our problem was one can only eat so many desserts, me only like a half of one and the view really wasn't that good. As far as HS, I would pay for a spot for the FWs. They are FWs, they are in the sky. We stood on the main street and saw them great but there have been reports that around the little lake is also a great spot.

Thanks for all the replies. This trip my son will be 21 so I thought he might enjoy trying some of the drinks (me, too)!. The cost is high but I am hoping it might be a fun experience.

Assuming that they have not changed the food offerings along with the new fireworks show, this party has a nice variety of savory options as well as desserts. When we did the dessert party in May, we had a late lunch that day to make sure we weren't too full to enjoy everything. If you drink alcohol, the mixed drinks here are unlimited too. This was one of my favorite dessert parties we've done. If only they had chairs out at the tables!

Could you tell me how much time they give you at the actual dessert/drink portion of the event until the start of the fireworks?

We never have dinner before a dp. It's a waste of money. Do a late lunch at 1 or 2 then you'll be looking forward to it.

We had at least an hour for food and drinks. It was probably closer to an hour and 15 minutes.

We did this on June 15th which was prior to the change. We checked in at 8:45 and the fireworks started at 9:45. They had the dessert party set up inside Disney Junior which was nice because it was air conditioned. They took us out to our fireworks viewing area about 9:30. We really enjoyed it. I thought it was a much better value than the Wishes Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom. They had more than just desserts. They had cheese, crackers, etc. as well. It was a nice offset with all the sweet stuff.

The comments on the fireworks are all really great and I'd really like to see them. Does anyone know what they do if it is raining? Do they refund your money but that seems hard to do if you attend the dessert portion.

Any guesses as to what time the dessert party would be in late Sep? We currently have 6:05 SciFi ADRs, but I think that may be too late. Even though we have no intention of filling up on 1000 calories worth of sugar.

Unfortunately no refunds for bad weather. I will say this party is way better than the wishes one. The view of fireworks and lasers etc is amazing. Worth every penny. Also they are not light handed on pouring the drinks either like at other events we have attended. The desserts are good and I especially enjoyed the savory food (cheese and fruit). The only bummer is the lack of chairs but I didn't care very much even after a long day

We just went to the DS Star Wars desert party, it was great! We checked in at 8:30 and they let us in at 8:45. The show started at 9:45.

The space is slightly to the left of the center of The Chinese theater, great location! The tables were pretty close together, slightly claustrophobic, but people were very conscious of staying in their personal space. No chairs, which was a bummer.

The drinks were good, not very strong, but that was ok with us.

There were desert options and savory option. We really liked the savory options; cheese, green olives, salty biscuits, fruit, pesto on top of crispy bread, cherry tomatoes and seasoned crackers.

There were soft drinks, water and punch options as well.

You could stay after the fireworks, we stayed for about 15min.

We had some lightning and thunder off in the distance and were told by a CM that if the show gets canceled for lightning, then we would not receive a refund as we were paying for the deserts/food and drinks. Luckily the storm did not come our way.

Here is a great thread about everything Star Wars - including the dessert party. 1st page has a lot of information and some reviews.

We did the dessert party on June 17th and it was definitely worth it for us. Desserts and savory items were really good and the bartenders were not light with the pours of alcohol.

One thing to keep in mind is that starting July 10 the dessert party will move into Launch Bay and they will walk you outside to a reserved area about 10-15 mins before the fireworks. I am doing the party in Aug with my other daughter and I can't wait to check out the new set-up.

I really hope I can work it into my december plans. no one has said a bad thing about it!

We just did this last week and it was one of the highlights of our trip. We checked in at 8:00. They let us in at about 8:15. There were lots of desserts and also some non sweet items. They had a row of low tables at the front, then the cocktail style tables behind. We had one of the cocktail tables on the first row. We had a perfect view of the fireworks that started at 9:45. The show is fabulous and not to be missed!!!!

Thanks for all the great reviews. I'm definitely going to try and work this into our schedule!!!
