Despicable Me - OPEN! (Official OPEN July 2,2012)

I, for one, am GLAD that Disney doesn't have an attraction like Spiderman... or MiB... or HP....

And I'm GLAD that Universal doesn't have anything like Expedition Everest..... Kilimanjaro Safaris... Haunted Mansion.... Test Track

Variety, people, is the spice of life and what keeps me going back to both WDW and US/IOA. :thumbsup2
Ah, sanity. I appreciate that. :)

I won't say what I think. ;)

Don't forget the screens and disco strobe lights! :rotfl:

:lmao:

Honestly, the only reason I ever said anything is because I get tired of the "This is why Universal will never ever ever be as good as Disney" comments. I happen to like both, but I think Universal does what they do very well and I don't want them to Disney it up. Disco Yeti notwithstanding.

Yep, if you like fans and air fresheners.

Fly with Star Tours much?

I hear ya. I grew up with Disney and will always love it. But i also am finding myself spending a lot of time at Universal when I'm down there. They are different parks with their own personalities.

But when I'm hearing people compare the parks around here (outside of us regular Darkside-er's), It always seems like Disney get's a boost just because of the name and history. Personally though, I find it really hard to find anything really exciting out of most of the new stuff they've done over the past 10 years (at least, compared to the stuff they did the previous 30).

We will be there (staying OS) later next week - do you guys think we still have a chance of riding, not being AP?

Sure hope so ... we'll be there on 6/21 and 6/22. Would very much like to see this - so I hope it's running.

I will admit that I am a huge Disney fan. We just got back from doing both Disney and Universal. While I love Disney, Universal was a totally different experience. It was a slower and more relaxed. This is while staying offsite. I can only imagine how great it would be to stay onsite. I was hesitant about doing Universal but it really surprised me and exceeded my expectations. So much that we are going back for a long weekend next week. Now since this thread is about Minions, thank you for all your information about early admission for AP holders. I signed up using the link and now have a confirmed confirmation.

Did you get an email confirmation or just the thank you after you sumited your info? I did 3 AP's for my family and only the thank you screen with name.

Sorry, I guess I explained that wrong. I received the thank you screen with our name and date. I wonder if they will have a list to check off at the turnstiles since it says it is a limited, first come basis?

IDK what they are going to do? Maybe someone that goes at the first few can post back.

Didn't like the old version and don't care for the new one either. The a/c must have been broke when we rode it last fall because it was miserably hot.

I have a bad feeling you're making this up.

Excuse me? If you want to have a polite conversation with someone, it's pretty freaking stupid to call them a liar. I can promise you my entire family was nauseated and dripping with sweat by the time the ride ended. We only rode it because my son had never been on either version and we will never ride it again.

And I'll back this up.

There have been several times over the years when I've ridden Star Tours and it's be VERY noticeably stuffy within the simulator.

i'm backing up the back up and the pp.

same thing happend to me on last year's fall trip.
