Designerrose's Wishes Wedding *10/28/12 WP/GF *5/21, Huge Update and Pictures!

I really like that dress!!! And your plans look great so far! It's too bad that you had to change your date...but at least you get the GF!!

Thanks everyone! And the dress came from Dillards. :)

And LuvLuvLuv, I'm excited to have Jason as our photographer! He seems like such fun! I can't wait to meet with him and have him do our engagement photos. :yay:

Oh, I love the dress with the blue necklace! It's SO pretty!!!

And Jason doesn't seem to be as "hot" right now, but I don't understand why--- he does gorgeous work!!! Nice choice. :thumbsup2

Just a short little update as not much is going on currently. :)

We met with Bill at DFTW again on Friday to show Derrick's mom the wedding pavilion and Grand Floridian. I think I fall more in love with it each time. :lovestruc even with the walls up! :) Derrick's mom absolutely LOVED it too.

Also, my mom held an engagement tea for my sister and I. (Yes, we're both engaged!) So, I have a few pictures from that. :)

Also, we got my dress and two of the bridesmaid dresses in, yay! :)

AAnndd, a little over a month before we sign our contract! :yay:

Your dress was so cute!
& i have to say i love your proposal story - so romantic and fun! :goodvibes

Emilie sweetie - everything is coming together very nicely!!!

Just a little update on every thing going on. :)
We received our budget the other day from Bill, and needless to say, this was us: :scared1:
But, after talking every thing over and figuring things out, we think we have figured out several ways to dwindle the estimate down. We also have tried to cut a few people off the guest list, though currently we're still at about 130. :headache: We are also thinking about bringing in an outside florist for our floral. Does anyone have any experience with this? After comparing the prices from a florist that is doing my sister's wedding with Disney's floral prices, the outside florist came out cheaper.

On an exciting note, our wedding is less than 13 months away and we sign our contract in a couple of weeks!

Just another update, we received an email from Bill's assistant last Wednesday containing some questions for us to fill out and information for us to set up our room block. We filled out all the questions and filled out the room block information and sent it in. Should be receiving our contract soon!

Just a quick update, we got our contract yesterday, so after we send that in we'll officially be getting married at Disney.

Also.....Exactly one year until our wedding!!:cool1::yay::woohoo::cheer2:

Soo I need everyone's opinion on my dress.
I am thinking of maybe changing my wedding dress..... The thing is, I love it when it is on, but when I see pictures of it, and of me in it, I am not a big fan of it. I don't know, something about it just doesn't look right to me. :/ Sooo, I am thinking of maybe changing my dress. What does everyone else think?

This is one I am thinking of maybe looking in to:

or maybe this one:

And as a reminder, this is my dress now:

On a happier note though, we sent out our signed contract and deposit today!

Just read through your PJ! Your DF's proposal is the best one I've read yet. Love it. I love those two new dresses you posted pics of. Gorgeous! I think they would be more flattering on someone petite like you :) But in the end, you have to go for the one you love of course!

Hey there - new to the thread, just being nosy and dreaming of how wonderful it would be to get married in Disney World (too bad I've been married for 6 years already hey?) lol

Anyways - I just have a couple of things to contribute to the conversation. 1, I would think hard before dyeing your shoes. Lots of women I know personally have had the unfortunate side-effect of permanently dyed feet from the sweat causing the dye to stain their feet on their wedding day! (With so many available options for techni-colored satin shoes these days you'd have no problem finding an alternative at a department store or shoe store so you know) and 2, can you show us a photo of YOU in the dress again so we can decide if you need to change your dress?
In my experience - with watching "Say Yes to the Dress" etc often brides go into salons with the desire to get a new dress, and in the end, the first dress is their dream dress, they just get skeptical when browsing through bridal magazines etc. With that being said, if I had to pick one of the dresses from the last 2 you just posted, I would choose the 1st one. :)

Some shoes I found online just as examples of what's out there these days!

And as for the shoes, I actually haven't done anything with the shoes that I bought. :) Even if I decide not to buy them, I'll probably still use the ones I bought because I adore them. :) I did hear though that some places are able to put a waterproof solution on the shoes to keep the dye from running?

Hmmm....I really like the dress you already have. Is that just a sample? It actually fits well except for the length. I think the detailing is nice without overwhelming you. The other two you have pictured have sweetheart necklines, maybe you could alter this one to have one too?

Oh your dress is absolutely stunning! It screams PRINCESS to me! It looks beautiful on you, just needs to be shortened to your size is all. I love it. It's very classic and extremely elegant.

If it makes you feel any better, I had the same issue with my dress. I felt good in it, but when I saw pictures it really looked boring to me. I figured I was just being overly critical, objectively it's a beautiful dress, so I let it go. (It was also inexpensive, so I didn't have buyer's regret or anything.)

I visited my MOH last weekend, and I tried on my dress for her. Since we had time left in the appointment, she picked a bunch of heavy, overly froofy stuff I'd never wear just for fun....wouldn't you know it? I fell in love in one of the ones I tried on. It was a brand new style, I had them order it with a rush on it, and I keep looking at the pictures. It's completely the opposite of my first dress. Go figure.

Try on the ones you're curious about. You'll either realize you love the one you have, or realize you don't have the right one. :thumbsup2 Either way, you'll get some closure! :goodvibes

Ohhhhh well, I think you look GORGEOUS in your dress! Absolutely gorgeous. :) But, I do agree with the above poster--- you have to love it, not us!
