Designerrose's Wishes Wedding *10/28/12 WP/GF *5/21, Huge Update and Pictures!

Aw, thank you everyone. :)

I think I have decided to try to go to Alfred Angelo tomorrow to try on the dress I really like (the 1st one) and just see how it is and if I like it any better. Will keep everyone updated on my dress dilemma. :)

Just an update, my mom, my maid of honor and I decided to stop by Alfred Angelo and try on a few dresses, specifically the first one I really liked. Here is a picture of me in the one that I loved.

A few things to keep in mind, the dress I had on was WAY too big for me, as in she said I was about a size 2 and the dress was a 10. So, the dress was clipped in the back. Also, me being only 5'1, the dress was a little long. So, I asked her what it would look like if I decide to buy it and I get a little shorter length, she said the top would come down a little bit (it looks a little high in the picture, obviously), and the side draping would raise up just a little bit as well. And, in the picture it looks like the stuff under the top looks a little off center, it's because it was so big, it made it seem uneven. And, you can't really see it in the picture, but on the sides there are also crystal designs. :) Overall, I loved the dress, but we're going to bring my aunt and sister to see it before we make any definitive decisions.
But, what does everyone else think of this dress compared to the dress I have now?

And a couple stock photos of the dress that show the designs a little bit better.

And just a picture I made of both of them side-by-side.

I love the new one you tried on. I think it flatters your shape more than the original dress did. It's really gorgeous. How did you feel about it?

You look gorgeous in both of them. I like the beading more on the other one, but I agree with the pp that the new one flatters your shape a little more. You have the same :bride: look on your face in both pictures. I would wait to make a final choice until your aunt and sister see it, but I think either would make a beautiful wedding dress.

What you could do too is try them both on with all of your accessories and try to fix your hair like you want in on your wedding day. Take photos and compare. I did this when I was caught between two, and it really helps to see what you'll look like that day. :goodvibes

I loved it! I definitely think it showed off my shape a little bit more, and the crystals on it just seemed to sparkle, which I loved. :good vibes Taking my aunt and sister to see it next Sunday, will make the decision after then. :)

Just a little bit of an update. :) Tomorrow will be the 11 month mark!

So my last post was about my dress dilemma, and the final decision was I changed my dress. :) We went again to Alfred Angelo to try it on for my aunt and sister, and I loved it even more when I was wearing it again. :good vibes Only thing I'm nervous about is they ordered me a size 2 because that is what my measurements came to, so hopefully it will fit! As far as my other dress goes, we had a little dispute with David's Bridal. Basically they told us something, then we found out what they told us (multiple) times wasn't actually true. So, needless to say, David's Bridal last a lot of business from us considering both my sister and I are planning our wedding at the same time. :sad2: On a happier note though, Alfred Angelo is having a sale right now, so I got $125 off my dress! I can't wait for it to come in so I can actually try it on in my size. :good vibes
Here's a couple pictures from last time I tried it on, with a veil and tiara. :)

Other news, we got our signed contract back and our annual passes! We also got assigned our planner, we got Lisa Smith! She has already been phenomenal. We already have had a little mix-up, I apparently accidentally put Port Orleans French Quarter on our Room Block instead of Riverside *smacks head* so I contacted Lisa about possibly having it changed, and they are already working on getting it changed. :)

We bought our champagne flutes a couple weeks ago. I left my job at Disney so I lost my Cast member discount, so before I lost it my mom and I went shopping and bought our flutes!
They're exactly like these, only they also have our names engraved on the side, and the date engraved on the bottom. :)

I also got my personalized hanger from Etsy the other day! I absolutely LOVE it, it's absolutely perfect. :lovestruc

Now I'm probably going to be getting hangers for all of my bridesmaids.

I ended up dyeing my shoes that I bought myself and well, they didn't turn out quite what I was looking for. So, I'm probably going to look into getting a different pair eventually. Will see. :)

I think Derrick and I have decided to maybe look into getting a videographer. After seeing all these videos, I think it is really something I would like to do, and I think we would regret it if we don't get one. So, I'm on the hunt for a good one. :)

Derrick and I have also been talking some about where we want to go on our honeymoon, and I think we are leaning toward a Disney cruise! Very excited about it because I have never been on one, and have always wanted to go on one. :)

It's hard to believe that we are now under the one year mark! During Thanksgiving Derrick said next year for Thanksgiving we'll be married. So weird to think! Two of my bridesmaids and I also spent the other day at Disney and we kept talking about how soon we would be staying there for the wedding. Can't wait. :)

And just for good measure, a picture of Derrick and I from last night. :)

Emilie, I love your new dress. It really flatters your figure!! You look so radiant!! Love the champagne flutes and hanger, as well. Very cute!

Your new dress is so pretty on you!! Sorry David's Bridal was such a pain. I like your hanger too! The colored wire is pretty....I looked at a bunch of different hanger styles a while back, but never ordered one; I need to do that.

Thank you so much everyone! :) I'm glad everyone likes my new dress, I just loved it as soon as I put it on, I can't wait to actually get *my* dress. :goodvibes

LOVE the dress! It's gorgeous on you!! And the flutes and hanger! Everything is looking great!!!

I really do like your dress but I am partial to alfred angelo I think since that is where I got my dress.

I like your hanger too

it is weird to think how close things are we are almost to our 1 year mark and in 21 days we will be back in the magic for christmas. it will be the same time period we are doing our honeymoon there. We have thought about doing something else for our honeymoon but we just love Disney so much it does not make sense to leave.

I am happy for you

Teresa

Just a small update! :)

Update wedding-wise: Not much new going on with the wedding. We sent in our request to change something in our contract regarding one of the resorts we reserved, and got a copy of the signed document back, so I'm assuming it was approved. Now just waiting for them to change it on our wedding site. :)
I also bought a flower girl basket! Here is a picture of it.

That's about it wedding-wise, things have kind of slowed down for the holidays. :)

In other news, Derrick and I welcomed a new addition to our family! We bought an eight week old cattle dog puppy. :) His name is Wyatt.

And don't mind my fiancé's dog Nismo in the background, he LOVES having a little brother to play with.

Your dress looks like it was made for you! I absolutely love it.

The champagne flutes are great too, do you know if they still sell them?

Awww, what a sweet little doggie. He even looks like he still has that fuzzy puppy fur. Awww!

Thank you!! :)
And yes, they sell them at the Arribas Brothers. :) They also have them on their website, but I'm not sure if you can personalize them on the website...

So I won a free engagement shoot for my fiancé and I. So now comes my dilemma, what to wear!?
Here are the colors she is thinking of for the shoot (it's Valentine's Day themed:) glitter, golds, neutrals (grey, black, ivory, white), and pops of red

Here are a couple of my outfit ideas:

This dress:

With one of these shoes:

Or I have this dress:
FXRM8P8A

Which I could pair with gold shoes.

What does everyone think? Or any other suggestions? I can use help! :)

I like the white dress with the ruby slippers, but I'm a sucker for anything blingy so that probably greatly influenced my shoe choice, lol.
