Design Your Own Magic Bands

I can not seem to find the link to the information on the new design your own magic band at the parks which now include a purple magic band. Can anyone tell me the cost to do this and where in the parks you can have this done? Can they so it to a current band you already own and have activated?

They are at the gift shop at Space Mountain, and they are $21.95, or $29.95 (plus tax) with your name on it. You cannot have a previous band decorated, it has to be "created". Purple is available, but not plain, just with graphics

I got a purple Small World magic band for my mother yesterday afternoon at the Space Mountain gift shop. It was around $23 after tax and took them about 45 minutes to make. Normally it would have taken about 20 but one of their printers had a problem.

Yes, you are free to move about the park and return at your convenience to pick up the magic band. If 3 hours isn't too long for you, they will send it to the front of the park as well. Resort delivery would be next day or two days if you buy it in the afternoon or later.

I picked up the purple band with HM Hitchhiking Ghosts a few weeks ago. I really like it and the graphics are great and sharp. If possible, I would take the 3 hr option to send to the front of the park as I was asked to come back for pickup 45 mins later but due to the demand that day, when I returned it was an additional 40 mins before it was completed. The CM tech at pickup was very helpful with helping me link the new band to my account but it really wasn't that difficult & I likely could have done it easily once back in my room. ps the new bands are not as thick/bulky as the old standard bands. So while it is more comfortable to wear, I found the attachment "teeth/snaps" don't grip as well and there seems to be a greater likelihood of losing it. I just picked up a pkg of the park specific MB sliders and this gave me a better sense of security. ps lots of comments that people aren't that happy with paying extra for the personalized version when the holes marr the name. The CM at the kiosk also mentioned that should I choose to personalize, I would lose half of the graphic so I was content with no name. When I was looking at the options on the screen at the kiosk the CM was pretty pushy about moving me through to my selection even though no one was waiting behind me. Don't be shy about thanking the CM and politely asking him/her to give you a bit of space if you want some time to look at the different graphics b/f choosing.

A small cable tie or even an elastic hair band could be used to keep the band from pulling apart...

I have some of the skins from the Magic Your Band site and they are very, very good quality and the price and the shipping from the UK was incredibly reasonable and shipping speed fantastic. If purchasing for a family, this is the route I would go. But if looking for a special band for yourself, then possibly you can justify the price of the Disney Personalized Band as a unique souvenir. Value is very much in the eyes of the beholder on this one.

Yup in the giftshop at Space Mountain! I had one made 2 weeks ago- purple with Jasmine and I love it. The whole trip everyone was asking me where I got a purple magic band from. It was $21.95 and it was ready in 20-30 minutes after ordering, so I went and did some things and came back to pick it up.
