We just returned from a DVC stay and my mind began to wander and wonder (as it often does).I was curious as to what you would build if you could design a new DVC resort or even modify an existing resort . There are no limitations... just thought it would be a fun exercise.

I really enjoy the more themed/immersive resorts, which Is why I have points at AKL. I am fairly budget friendly vacationer and enjoy the resorts that have a favorable point chart.

Although I have enjoyed most of our DVC stays and I can’t help but think that even I would be willing to pay a premium for a 1 and 2 bedroom option at Poly. With fairly decent access to MK and Epcot this would shoot Poly up to the top of the list for me.

I could think of a thousand different themes and designs. But I think one thing I would include in a DVC resort is a ride or attraction. The safari is about the closet thing currently.

About 90% of my Disney planning revolves around food so I immediately thought about what I’d want to eat thats missing from dvc resorts. To me an Asian themed resort would be top pick for dvc. Not sure if would make sense to go single country or wider theme with different sections being different countries but for broader food options would go the later.

It’d be cool to have a combination of a few countries. All the food is uniquely different.

They already have (pre-DVC) plans in the archives for an Asian resort, going back to the 70's I think. Also they had plans back then for a Mediterranean one that looked a bit like the Riviera.

I would like one themed to extinct attractions, restaurants, etc.

The onsite restaurant could have booths made from old ride vehicles and maybe even sell old favorite dishes that are no longer available.

You could even work some still operating things in like rooms themed to look like an older style monorail car, so on and so forth.

I think for DVC members this would be very nostalgic and keep the magic going when you get back to your room. I also think this idea would work equally well on both coasts.

LOVE this idea. A Disney museum attached and rotating artifacts in the resort itself.
They could call it... Reflections!

Well, despite owning DVC, I still love POR. Love NOLA, love Princess and the Frog.....

So, I'd love to see POR converted to DVC, a Princess and the Frog themed restaurant like they had planned for Reflections built on site, and a street car system for POR guests exclusive use to take to the parks!

I would take one of the classic DCL ships and park it at CC.
Then use the newer ships to transport people there and back for multi-night stays.
