I am maybe throwing a quick trip together. I found super cheap flights and this hotel. The reviews sound ok, but what do all my dis friends think? Is there an entrance on the back side of Cali Adventure or do you have to walk all the way around to the main entrance? How is the pool. Looks smallish is it?

Also are tickets through Costco or AAA better? I will not have a car to parking is not a concern.

Thanks for any help.

This hotel is very average. Pool is indoors and very small, rooms are ok, and the breakfast buffet is (just) adequate.

You use the main gate for access. The walk is in the five to ten minutes category, and there a couple of stores nearby for basic supplies. As you can tell, I'm not excited about it!

See if there's anything else around, if not, well it will at least meet your needs.

We stayed here several years ago. And, I agree - it is totally average!
In my opinion there are other hotels that are equally close, or closer, and in the same category, but for less money.
The pool is sorta outdoors. It is very small, as in no pool deck at all. It is right in the middle of the hotel, which is 3-4 stories tall. But there is no roof on the pool area.
The breakfast is 'OK' -similar to many other hotels in the area - juice, coffee, and pastries.
You still have to walk a looooonnnnnggggg 1/2 block to the entrance of the Park.
I have been happier at the Park Vue Inn (outdoor pool) or the Desert Inn and Suites (indoor pool). They are both closer and less expensive but, IMO, comparable value and quality.

Ok I seem to be the only person here who really liked it.

Yes it's a bit further..no further a walk thank Hojo's that everyone raves about (i've stayed at both..they're pretty similar).

You can't enter in a back way, but we walked to and from every morning and every night and survived just fine.

We liked the breakfast, it tasted better than others I've had and it was warm and fresh.

The maids were ON THEIR GAME, I'll tell ya what.

One little side note. I stayed here a couple years ago and the thing about the breakfast was that it started at 8 I think, so because we wanted to get there early, we could not take advantage of this. Don't plan on getting breakfast and getting to the parks early during peak seasons.

Thanks everyone! I so appreciate all of your opinions.
