Depressed About Forecast

Our trip last year was in June, and we caught quite a bit of rain. For the most part, you were able to work around it (jump into a show building, hang out in a gift shop, etc). It did a really nice job of clearing out the parks, and it did cool things down for a while. Everyone is right though, the forecasts change so quickly in FL!

Our 2nd night in town, however, had us catching the edge of a tropical storm. I have NEVER seen so much rain before! It was our Epcot day, and it was really rough. Standing water on all the walkways, completely soaked through everything. Ponchos didn't really help at all, because you were just hot and gross under them :(

We did end up leaving the parks early that day, and hung out in the hotel. It eventually cleared up enough for our dinner ADR, and Illuminations went on that night. That was really the only bummer moment of an otherwise pretty great trip!

Years prior to 2012 we had not experienced much rain, if any, on our WDW trips. However, in May 2012 it rained every single day. Sometimes for long periods of time and sometimes so briefly we didn't have time to get our ponchos out. I do remember, though, that one of the days we were at DHS it rained the entire day, and it didn't clear the crowds one bit, mostly due to the fact that it was on a Sunday during SWW. But around 7:00 p.m that night the skies cleared and we had a beautiful evening to enjoy Fantasmic! Last May, 2013, we had a rainy morning at AK and a few showers off and on that day, then a semi-rainy day at MK. We have learned to pack the ponchos and go with the flow. I am a southern summer sun loving girl, but I don't mind the rain when I am at Disney.

We had the same forcast last year but to be honest we just got the usual daily shower for 20 minutes and then it cleared up and the sun came out. I think it usually looks worse on the forcast ( heres hoping).

OP - this may be a blessing in disguise.

On our last trip, our first day was (on and off) rainy/stormy. We thought, ugh - can't wait till this stops. Then, every other day of our trip was non-stop sunny .... and hot and miserable! We quickly realized that our BEST weather was that first day, when it was overcast, and breezy and NOT BLAZING HOT!

I will not make that mistake again. Give me the overcast days over the sunny ones!
