Does this sound odd?

The DU agent said I need to pay my $200 deposit with Disney Visa upfront before they check into free dining and make my reservation.

Sounds kind of strange to me. Is this how it works?

Basically DU has to have the authorization for the $200 on your Disney Visa before they can book so yes this is how it works.
