I read on the mousesavers website that you are available to take tours of certain deluxe hotels at disney. We have been to many of the hotels before however, this said something about having to make a reservation, though the cost was free and a tour guide would show you different interesting things around the hotel. I was just wondering if any of you have done this or know anything about it. Thanks alot!

I am not sure exactly but they might be referring to the tours of the AKL and the WL. This is just a guess on my part though. Can anyone else shed any light on this?

Found these...hope it helps :)

If you enjoy the Grand Floridian , sign up for the guided tour of this spectacular resort. It isn't publicized very much, so you may get your own private, customized tour. When we took the tour, we were able to see how "the other half" vacations in the Floridian's exclusive concierge level, got to go aboard the resort's exclusive yacht, and were able to go inside and talk to the folks who run Victoria & Albert's, among lots of other things. Check with Guest Services for reservations, as the tour may not be offered every day during your visit. (Note that the tour is *not* restricted to GF resort guests - anyone can take it, but you do need to call for a reservation.)

Take the tour of the Wilderness Lodge, offered once in the morning, and once in the afternoon. The guide will point out many interesting things about the construction of the lodge and its exterior.
While doing a resort tour and stopping at the Wilderness Lodge. We noticed a sign..."Ask about our Smokehouse Tour ". We asked and were told it was a tour of the smokehouse and restaurants at the Lodge. We went that Friday and the famous Stan took us to the Whispering Canyon Cafe, then to the smokehouse where the chef showed us the smokers and told us how they worked. He even gave us samples of the ribs and answered lots of questions. We then moved on to a quick look at Roaring Forks (fast food place) and on to Artist's Point where the chef brought a sample of the signature salmon dish for everyone to try. He then talked about many of the items on their menu and where they got them from. It was wonderful, and Stan was great. It was held in the afternoon, staged from the same spot the Architecture tour starts from.

Animal Kingdom Lodge
There is a Lodge Lobby tour every afternoon at 3:30pm. It lasts approximately one hour.

Thank you so much for your information. It sounds wonderful. We will check these tours out when we are there. Have a disney day!

Thanks for this info! As many times as I've been at the Grand, I don't think I knew about this, and while I'm there this summer, I think I'll check it out! Where did you get this information, if I may ask?

Thanks!!! Is the guest services (GF) desk open? Or, do you go to the front desk? Thanks! ;) Can't wait to take it! Can I take pictures on the tour?
