Deluxe route 2001/ budget route 2002

This Oct MIL, husband, 9yr son and I are staying 6 nights at Wilderness Lodge. I'm paying for the room and all PS for the 4 of us. I have many PS planned, dinner shows, etc. In other words I am "going all out" with this trip. Next year I am planning on just taking my son and doing the "budget route". What would you make sure you do this trip and not do next year?

Renting boats is always fun. A pontoon boat costs about $35 per 1/2 hour. Lots of fun.

I don't know when in October you'll be at WDW, but if you are there at the end of the month, MNSSHP is lots of fun.

You're going to love Wilderness Lodge if you haven't stayed there before! Have a great trip.

I agree on the boat rental... especially for the illuminations.. they take you on a little tour around Swan... and you get front row for the show at Epcot on the water.
My family of 6 adults and 3 elementary age children did this 3 years ago and I love it.

It sounds like you have the character meals covered.....
I would still do 1 or 2 character meals - breakfast buffets the best for money on your budget trip. Then you are not spending time in line at the parks for autographs.
There is so much to do on a budget at Disney that don't even include the parks.

Maybe this time go to all parks which I am sure you are and then next time go to 2 or maybe 3 of your favorite.. ( that is what we are doing this feb. - omitting one that we though we could do with out and spend an extra day at MK or/and World showcase at Epcot since it is only going to be adults and no older kids...
But with a smaller child pick his favorite and maybe omit World of Showcase...

Have a great time - just remember to rest...... and maybe take a 1/2 day or 1 day away from parks for the mind/feet/and attitudes.
