I have been to Disney World twice and we have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We are going again this December and I have rooms at the Polynesian. Now looking at the pictures of the Grand Floridian, I am not sure which resort I want to stay at. Which one would you chose and why?? There are 3 adults and one child age 6 going and we will be getting 2 seperate rooms. Thanks!!!!

This will be our second trip this July.
First trip we stayed at POFQ.
This trip we will be staying at Grand Floridian.

We took a trip to the Grand last year and I fell in love with the place. I told DH that next year we had to stay at Grand Floridian.
It is simply beautiful. It is sooooo close to MK.

I understand that the Poly is great also. I will have to take a trip over and check it our in July.

I would choose Grand.

I have stayed at both and while the Grand Floridian is wonderful i was let down a little and am not sure why even now. Everything was real nice but a bit to frilly for me (even more so now with the new decore in the rooms).
I personally like tropical themed areas better so the Polynesian was great for me.
As far as amenities go the Grand Floridian has more restaurants to choose from but that reall isn;t a problem with the monorail at your disposal.
It all comes down to whether you want a elegant victorian theme or a casual tropical theme.

My vote is the Poly! Its casual, and great for kids. Plenty of things for them too. The GF is wonderful but IMOP its more of an adult resort.

We have stayed at both the Poly and the GF. We loved both. But I have to say we like the GF better. We had a 4 year old in our party and she loved it! And there were plenty of kids there. They were enjoying themselves at the pool, the Adventures in Cooking, and they have a Pirates Cruise that's fun too. Ofcourse you don't have to stay there for the last two activities mentioned ---but I bet you'd be glad you did.

I didn't really find the GF "frilly". But that's me. (I'm no foo-foo lady either.)

Especially if you are going in Dec., I would have to say try the GF! It will be decorated wonderfully for that time of year. People rave on the boards about not missing the decorations. We usually go in Sept., or Oct. one of these years we'll go in Dec..

Have fun no matter what you decide. Really you can't go wrong. They are both really nice places. :)
