Deluxe Plans

That's exactly what I had told them. ;) If wasn't sure if they wanted to use ts for breakfast and lunch each day or not. That's why I recommended they use her 2 snack credits for breakfast, then they would still have a ts credit for lunch and 2 ts credits for dinner.

Or they could use a ts credit for breakfast, have a couple of snacks in the afternoon and then 2 ts credits for dinner.

But the fact remains that if they wanted to do a signature restaurant every night, then they can't do ts for breakfast and lunch each day. Then again, I don't know anyone that could do 3 ts each day their entire trip!!! :rotfl:

thanks so much for your help! I think that the deluxe plan was the right choice for us based on what you are saying. we are going to at least 4 signature places when we are there and looks like we make out better this way than the vanilla dining plan!

The ones I marked aren't on the plan, so that narrows it down some.

Yea we looked at the menu's at Allears and needless to say wasn't a good idea when your a little hungry,LOL.

We are going for 9 days
And keep in mind your meal credits are based on your number of nights, rather than the number of days, you are staying.

We were disappointed with Sci-Fi Dine-In. It's unique but the food was just okay. Our favorites were Whispering Canyon Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace, and Coral Reef. Happy planning. Read the boards and we used the "unoffical guidebook" which had a lot of info in it.

Also remember that a sit down takes an hour but if it's a resort you need to add about a hour to your time to make sure you don't miss your adr.

My thoughts on the ones I've tried, with the date of my mot recent visit in ():

Boma (2005) - We really enjoyed this, and I'm not a fan of buffets. The food is interesting but had enough 'safe' options for my less-adventurous, meat & potatoes DH. He wasn't as impressed as I was, but he's not generally a fan of African or Middle Eastern cooking so that's no surprise.

California Grill (2008) - Absolutely amazing! Wonderful sushi, melt-in-your-mouth pork, and a priceless view. We had a window table for the fireworks, and it was an unforgettable experience. However, it is a little louder than the other signature restaurants and we didn't think the service was quite as good either.

Narcoosees (2008) - Wonderful atmosphere, very quiet with remarkable service. This was DH's favorite restaurant of all our Disney trips because he LOVES lobster, and we will definitely be going back on our next visit. I enjoyed the shrimp and scallops as well, not being a lobster fan, and the almond cheesecake is the most decadent dessert we had in the whole 12 day trip.

Ohana (2008) - We went for breakfast, and there really isn't a lot to say. The food was good, the characters were fun, my kids loved the parade around the restaurant, and DH & I appreciated a non-buffet character meal. I've never been for dinner, so I can't offer any insight there.

Boatwrights (2005) - Good, but not great and not especially memorable. It made a good first night dinner because we weren't doing a park that day and we were staying at POR, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there if I wasn't staying at one of the Port Orleans resorts.

Beaches & Cream (2007) - We didn't actually get around to eating here because every time we tried there was an hour+ wait for a table. So just a heads-up - go at off times or expect a long wait, because they don't accept reservations!

Capt Jacks (2005) - I really wasn't impressed. This was one of few restaurants where my DH & I really disagreed - he enjoyed it and wanted to go back. I thought the menu was limited and the food just okay, and didn't. Now that the lobster tails are no longer on the menu, I don't see us going back there unless the menu undergoes a serious overhaul.

Chef Mickeys (2008) - This place is a zoo! The food was pretty good for a buffet - we went for dinner and really enjoyed the salmon - and the character interaction was great, but it is loud, it is chaotic, and we encountered more poorly supervised children than I care to deal with. That said, we'll undoubtedly go back because my girls will want to see Mickey & Minnie and one noisy meal is better than two character lines in the parks!

San Angel Inn (2005) - The atmosphere here is really cool, but the tables are close together and the service we got wasn't the best. Look over the menu before you go, because it likely isn't the sort of Mexican food you're expecting; my DH & kids didn't much care for it for just that reason.

Sci-Fi (2008) - Go for the atmosphere, not the food. The food is good, in a burger and onion rings sort of way, but the decor is so cool that we hit this one on nearly every trip!

Tusker House (2008) - This was a nice surprise. The food is really good and not typical buffet fare. The veggie wontons were just amazing! We had a reservation right at opening, so the place was empty, the food was fresh, and the service was excellent. As I mentioned, I don't like buffets, but this one we'll visit again.

Good luck making your decisions! Narrowing down the list of restaurants is always one of the toughest parts of planning a trip for me.

Yeah it's kinda a pain, but fun all the same. The good thing is we are going at a leisure pace since we are going for so many days so picking resturaunts even if it will take awhile is cool.

I also have another question I'm thinking the nice table service resturaunts that we will do in the theme parks we would do those for lunch. Is lunch less busy and faster than dinner?
