Has anyone gotten this plan before. What do you think? Is it worth it. My DH & I enjoy eating out a lot on vacation so it sounds pretty good, but just not sure with the price difference. Opinions please...

I think since it's just you and dh then it's a pretty good deal. With kids it wouldn't make sense because you will be spending a lot of time in restaurants rather than parks. I just don't like the thought of running from one ADR to the next. But if it were just me and dh, I would definetely give it some thought. Also, it is A LOT OF FOOD - 3 full meals a day plus 2 snacks each :scared1:

I ran the numbers for DW and myself and came up with a savings of over $350 over 7 days, and that's with 2 credits unused (we didn't book everything in advance).

Head over to the Dining Plan sub forum of this board. There are tons of threads about this very issue:thumbsup2
(For us, it is a good deal since we prefer TS to CS and this allows us to eat at more signature dinners and do all character breakfasts for DS5)

We did it last month and it was totally worth it! We never did CS and had the best time doing lots of character meals with my 4 yr old nephew. We're doing it again in August!

We saved $330+ using the DxDP. We had 3 signature dinners (Narcoosees and Yachtsman's twice). 8 TS locations and 7 CS meals x 3 people. We never felt like we were running to ADRs. We made reservations for breakfast, usually before rope drop but that also meant we were in the parks before everyone else. And dinner, then we got CS lunches and snacks as needed. I thought it was terrific!

my wife and I there would be no hesitation on the deluxe plan. I'd try to do a signature restaurant every day. Only two meals then and the schedule is not driven by ADRs.

I have been going round and round with this all day now that you can purchase the DDP and deluxe without having to purchase tickets. I dont think DH and I can eat that much in one day. Right now we have it so we eat at TS for breakfast and one for dinner, not eating lunch but maybe sharing something or snacking.

If I was to do it I would want to use the credits at TS places so that would mean rearranging my plans and doing breakfast first thing in the am as early as possible, lunch around 1 and then dinner around 8. That would defeat the purpose of our relaxing vacation of breakfast at 9:30, sitting by the pool from noon to 2 ish, dinner at 6:30. This vacation we are not planning on a lot of park time but more pool and resort time.

Oh, yeah, Baby!!! There are 5 of us - 2 adults and three princesses ages 8, 7, and 4. We just added on Delux DP to AP discounted rooms, and no one day tickets to worry about!!!

It's a lot of food, but if you double up some TS meals to the Signature places, it could work out very nicely.

And off topic... but Did I meet you near Beach club/the International Gateway a while back? Did you have a Lime Green Mickey Head?? You look familar, but it was a while back and could be nuts... :lmao:

We are doing it with our DD6. We are doing two TS a day, normally a character breakfast and a 2TS Dinner (Or Dinner show). It is a LOT of food but you dont have to eat everything to make the plan a good deal plus I like it being prepaid.

Also remember you can easily use up those credits at 2TS Places. Do several Signature Dining or even a dinner show (or two).

I can't remember, does the Deluxe DDP still include the tip? It's just DH and I and we were thinking of taking advantage of it now that it's being offered to AP holders.

No, it doesn't. I think that is a drawback...that is a lot of $$ to budget for tips!

Nope, it wasn't me :)

I think if we when we do get to go back we will probably try to get the DXDP. I think like others have said, if we double up some of the TS meals and do some Signature meals that we haven't gotten to try before, it will def be worth it.

I figured out that DS and I would still save over $200 assuming that we only used our snack credits for water (we will probably use for other things) and that we shared appetizers and desserts at some meals. This is our 6th visit in 5 years so we don't feel the need to commando tour and really want to enjoy different foods this trip. And we love character breakfasts but never eat much more than fruit, juice and coffee/tea so this doesn't make it seem like a waste of money to go.

I think it's worth it if you like character breakfasts-we do one every day pretty much! And, if you do TS dinners every night. You can use snack credits for lunch and do a character breakfast and a signature dinner every night if you wanted to also. I know for my family breakfast at Crystal palace and dinner at California grill would be more than the deluxe dining plan costs us. Don't forget you can also use snack credtis for bottled water and sodas in the parks.

My DW and I did the deluxe plan on our 2 night VDay trip we just had. DW said we had $80+ in food more than what the dining plan cost us. We ate at The Yachtsman,Cape May Cafe Breakfast, Tempan Edo, Whispering Canyon Breakfast, and The Crystal Palace dinner. We ended up having extra snacks and not using our mugs as much because we didnt feel it was convienent at the BWV to use them. But for the 2 of us it was worth it, we ate great an were nver hungry. Plus you get your app w/ the Deluxe plan which I like. We will be doing the Deluxe plan again.
