we have two families traveling together - we are under seperate reservations and both have the same plans - of course we plan to eat together all the time. Total there are 4 adults 2 kids and 1 infant - so always 7 of us.
I think it is dumb if we share a table we get gigged for the 18% tip right off the bat even with Buffets- which really gets me cause no way would I EVER tip a buffett person 18% for brining me drinks and clearing a table.
anywhoo... since we are two different families on different reservations for our rooms --even if I book together can they do seperate checks for us at the tables.. hoping this will get rid of the party of 7 thing too..

any suggestions on this?

If you sit together you will be charged the automatic gratuity period.

It doesn't matter if you are different families, different ressies or are paying on seperate checks.
If you are all together dining at the same table the charge will happen.

The only way around it is not eat together. Sorry.
