Delta is the worst ever!!!

Yes, airplanes break down. If all the lights don't come on correctly when they do a systems check, the plane doesn't move. It costs the airlines a lot of money when they can't get their planes off the ground. They don't do it to spite you...or because the airplane is not full...it just happens...and thank God it does! Can you imagine if it didn't? Angry customers are better than dead customers.

But if you folks will just send me $24.99 you can be stockholders in "Bubba" Airlines.

Bubba is being formed to meet the needs of the DIS. Bubba thinks those little warning lights are like "Christmas" tree lights and are suppose to just randomly blink off and on. Bubba assures me that weather is not an issue. Heck to get you to Disney ON SCHEDULE Bubba will take off in a hurricane. Bubba will get you to Orlando (exact landing spots are NOT guranteed however!) Bubba also never changes his schedule. (Since weather and safety are not concerns that really helps) Bubba won't move your seat either. Bubba's policy is the more luggage the better. (Bubba reserves the right to jetison luggage if fuel runs low. Be sure to put a tag with your desitination address on your bags. Folks on the US interstate system are nice, they will ship it to you evenutally!)

Now of course you will need to sign a 10 page waiver before flying on Bubba.

Will Bubba allow me to sit with my family even if I book at the last minute? Does Bubba serve snacks?

Bubba will allow you to sit with your family. Bubba is going to have "rude" rules. If you act like a jerk to the FA you get thrown off. Based on my travel this will free up enough seats for you and your family to sit together.

(NO, refunds are not offered if you get thrown off LOL! And call the media all you like Bubba don't care)

Of course Bubba will serve snacks. Bubba has enterend into an agreement with a local peanut farmer.... :rotfl:

Just came back from the airport. Delta cancelled our flight and tried to put us on a bus! I absolutly hate Delta!!! They said the flight was cancelled due to it not being full and then told another person the aircraft was broke. We are now rescheduled for later today. My 3 y/o is devastated. After all the build-up, we woke him at 4am to go to the airport and fly on a big plane to see Mickey, only to head back home.

Delta also sent is an email yesterday confirming our flight but they never bothered to email us about the cancellation.

My advice to anyone would be to avoid Delta at all cost. Pay more if you have to, it's well well worth it. I have seen Delta do this on numerous occasions so it's a normal business practice for them.

Yes, I'm beyond mad. We could have arrived at disney 2 hours sooner if we had driven our own car.

I am with you on that one! Granted I wasn't in or going to disney but I was coming home Sunday night from a weekend in NC and Delta cancelled my flight because of weather in NY. According to several sources, the weather in NY was PERFECT!! Our flight was full to capacity, so my guess is air traffic in and out of LGA was ridiculous (as it usually is!!)

Delta couldn't even get me a dirrect flight home. The only flight they could offer me was a connecting flight leaving NC at 2 and arriving in NY at 7... does that even make sense for an hour flight!??! they put me on American.

JetBlue did the same thing to my sister. It was like a bad movie. Something's gotta change....

I am not sure what you wanted them to do? They don't take weather delays lightly. I am sure if they flew through bad weather someone would be complaining.

I once sat on the ground at Atlantic City airport when they grounded planes because of weather in the NYC area. We sat for 5 hours. I had nothing but praise for Jet Blue in that case.

Better to be safe than sorry.

Life Insurance companies (A little late to think about this AFTER you get on Bubba, but...)
popcorn::

Good grief! I forgot about those life insurance kiosks all the airports used to have! Right next to the hare krishna information booths! :lmao:

Although the gate agent may have said in NY it could have been in the area they were flying or NY did have bad weather and was controlling the number of planes it was allowing in, this is completely outside of the airlines control.

I know FOR SURE it wasn't weather related cause a JFK bound flight left 30 minutes before my flight. It was definitely and air traffic delay and Delta took the cowardly way out and blamed it on weather. My flight was due to land at 7PM and the storms in NY and NJ didnt start until 3AM the next morning.

It would be nice if they knew what was going on and didn't make you sit in a airport. My philosophy is you gotta be the first plane out or you are going to be screwed. Pardon the French.

FWIW, in French, "screwed" comes out "vissé"; this of course refers to the hardware version of the term... ;)

You can't know that for sure. Weather does move across the country, it could be that the JFK flight was going in time to miss the bad weather.

As another poster tried to point out, airlines don't cancel flights lightly. Those planes are needed to be where they are going to pick up other passengers. Otherwise it will throw off travel for days.

Goodness. You sound like the person who stood behind me in line in IND a few weeks ago checking weather.com on his blackberry and shouting to all the passengers in the terminal that UA had no reason at all to delay our flights. Or the passengers at ORD who like to scream and rant at GAs becasue flights are delayed yet the skies are clear.

Something tells me that the airlines have a far better ability to know when it is safe to fly than the average amateur passenger.

I will trust the airline over a passenger every time, thank you.

Amen.

That usually is how you can tell those that fly alot from those that fly very little. Usually the ones complaining fly very little.

This makes me wonder what some of the complainer would have to say if they were on my flights to and from Disney this past May. On the way down, we spent some time flying over a thunderstorm. The ride was smooth, which suprised me. But you could see flashes of lighning underneath the plane for quite some time. It was an evening flight, so the darkness made the lightning all the more vivid. And during my connecting flight on the way home you couldn't see out your window, it was so foggy. And that flight was very bumup!:scared1:

Would the people who complain about flights not taking off because of bad weather be the same ones complaining about the bumpiness of the flight? Or the creepiness of flying over a lightening storm?:confused3

Oh at least it wasn't the guy at Atlanta who was curising like a sailor at the Gate Agent because we were stuck due to a HUGE thunderstorm that we could SEE! He claimed that Delta was delaying him on purpose! :lmao: Yeah they control the weather!

He also seemed to have missed that part on weather fronts that MOVE LOL! It was just bizarre to listen to and watch!

I have been on several flights where I did actually think that it may be my last flight. SEVERAL. Safetymom and I have shared some of our experiences via PMs in past, and agreed that it may not be best to share those stories here.

I've been on aircraft that have dropped several thousands of feet, were buffeted around in severe storms, had an aborted landing due to another aircraft coming in the opposite direction on a runway during a blinding snow storm, etc etc etc.

and YES, I agree that many of those who feel the need to complain about weather delays are most likely the same ones who then complain on board when the FAs are ordered to stay seated during the flight for their safety, or who complain on landing and say that they will never fly XYZ airlines again.

It's weather. As far as I know, weather is only controlled by one entity. Perhaps people should direct their complaints there instead of misdirecting them to the airline staff and crew.

I blame this iPhone ad.
