Ok, I'm failing at searching for this info, and I think it is probably very easy to find.:crazy2: So please help me! My excuse is that I woke up at 3 am and couldn't get back to sleep.

In the Atlanta airport, what concourse(s) does Delta use?

And

Are there any places you recommend for breakfast? We have a long layover when we fly next month, and the plan is to get something to eat.

The simple answer to your first question is that Delta is on every concourse in the ATL airport.

Delta is THE air line in ATL. They are all over everwhere! There's good transportation going from concourse to concourse and breakfast abounds. We usually get a breakfast sandwich at Atlanta Bread company with coffee.

See in my searching I never found that!:p

An additional question: I thought that there was a way to see the gate number of flights? When I use Delta to check on the same flight as it is running today, the gate numbers don't show. I could have sworn I had looked at them in the past.:confused3
You should be able to use Delta's flight tracker section of their website to see what gate is being used. I just looked up flight 4884 and I know when it lands, it's going to gate D35.

As far as food options, there are a lot. Personally, I like getting to my next gate and then finding something nearby to that .

Ok, I figured out you have to click on the flight number. The flight number I am flying on next month was diverted from Atlanta to Nashville today. Wonder what happened???

Gates are generally assigned on the day of departure and can change thru the day as delays occur. If you're still a month out, your gate won't be posted.

Where are you finding it? It is not under Flight Status.:confused3

Their sit map is huge. Now I am just getting annoyed. Checking under Flight Status it only lists times, not gate numbers.
Click on Flight Status. You can put in the flight number or the arrival & departure cities.

If you use Flight Number, it goes to a new page with all the information.
If you use the cities, you go to a new page with a list of all the flights. Click on the flight you want and it will show you gate assignments (if it's been assigned).

It's possible the gate hasn't been assigned yet also. Although you should be able to look at yesterday's flight information.

Thanks, it took me a minute but I finally figured it out. :upsidedow

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I think most experienced air travellers would agree unless you have a longer layover.

DW and I happened to be on a flight from MCO to IAH that happened to have another family we know on it, though we were not traveling together. We were at a low numbered C terminal gate and had to get to the end of E terminal with a 50 minute connection. Add to that we arrived a bit late. So off we hustled and got to the gate just as the boarding was just finishing with our group so we went straight on. As we got ready to go I looked around and I couldn't see our friends anywhere. That's when DW told me that she saw them lined up for food back in the other terminal. They were confident the plane would wait. Well it didn't, and since that was the last flight of the day, they had to overnight in Houston. Boy did they bad-mouth the airline after that!

Sorry for the long post. :)

:thumbsup2

Gates change all the time. Don't worry about this until flight day.

I won't stress. We have almost a 3 hour layover, so I was just curious as to what was where. Also, I'm coming from an airport that has next to nothing for concessions, so I wasn't sure how much would be open. Turns out quite a lot!

That was pretty stupid. Anytime I line up for food or restroom during a connection, I go to my new gate and see the status first.

Gates definitely change. I've found that the gate showing when I do online checkin the day before is almost never the actual gate in Atlanta, not even the same concourse.

maxiesmom...

If you don't already have it, I highly suggest getting the Delta app for your smart phone. it will show you gate information that you can access from your flight if the flight offers wifi (access to Delta is free).

It's also helped me in two other situations...
1) In 2012, our originating flight was delayed for mechanical issues. It got delayed enough to miss our connecting flight and I was notified of our new connecting flight before we even left our "home" airport.
2) Just a couple weeks ago, I was notified our departure flight was going to be delayed 2 hours. We were already on the road to the airport (it was a 2 hour drive to the airport). I was able to call Delta and rearrange connecting flight for my entire traveling party (going to two destinations).

You can also track your bags (if you've checked any).

I see that all the time in Atlanta. I have zero sympathy for folks that do that. And they are always the ones pitching a 2 year okay hissy fit at the gate.

Nope, I don't have the app yet, but I'm definitely going to go download it asap. Thanks for the heads-up!

We just had a layover in ATL and Delta was changing everyones gates while we were all already at the original gate (including ours) all over the place, so the app is definitely helpful in that situation, especially if the announcement is fuzzy.
