So, I have had my Delta flights booked since last March for our flights in February. And have actually been quite surprised that no changes have been made. Well, I checked today, and both legs of our trip have been changed. Our outbound flight from BOS to RSW changed from 7:00am to 10:30am. That actually works better for us, so I gladly accepted that change.

However, our flight home from RSW to BOS was changed from 7:50pm to 3:08pm. We like to spend 9-10 days when we go, and this flight change was going to basically lose one full day for us. I called Delta, asked to be moved to the same flight, one day later, and about 5 minutes later my itinerary had been updated, and I received the email confirmation.

Super easy, and we now have an extra day in Florida in Februaryl!

So the moral is, don't panic folks, when you get the changes, check out your airline, see what alternatives will work for you, and make the call!

My one caveat is that we are staying with my parents at their house, so there is no additional hotel cost for extending by one day.

Excellent news for you Deb!:cool1: don't ya just love it when it all works out like that, cool. Hey so how bout that freak snow storm today, weird ha?

Yet again, Deb, yet again.....

Dare I say at the risk of earning points from our esteemed moderator that you continue to disappoint? Where is the drama and excitement in your posts?! Don't tell me that you too live in RealWorld and not DISworld ;)

again, tongue firmly planted in cheek for those who have misplaced their sense of humour

It really is OK here in the 'real world'. ;)

The new flights actually work better for us, all the way around. Of course now that Delta has started fussing with them, they'll probably change again, but we'll deal with that too!

Jill--the snow was WILD yesterday. Middle of October, bah!

When that happens please do indulge me with some wailing, gnashing of teeth, or at a minimum some rending of garments.

Thank you. :snooty:

This happened with us in July for our trip to Hawaii. I called them up as they had us with a much larger layover and arriving 2 hours later than planned. I called them up and said that wouldn't work for us as we had a connecting flight onto another island. They glad rerouted us to Denver and got us in 2 hours earlier than originally planned, so we had time to grab a bite. And then the flight coming back left later so a shorter layover and only got us home 15 mins later than orginally planned.
Sometimes it does work out :D
Glad it is working out for you too

I had a similar one.
Mine could have been a minor change and ended up being a great change.
Two years ago, Airtran changed our flight home by about an hour.
When I checked their site, I found they had done a major schedule revision that added a direct flight between BUF-MCO.
When I called, they told me they put us on the flight "closest to our original time", but happily changed us to the direct flight home.
