Hi , We are flying with Delta next year, Economy Comfort , and the website is pretty vague about the meal service.

Last time we flew with Thompson (Premium Economy), and we certainly didn't lack for food, we had complimentary drinks, Pretzels, a choice of main meal with salad and dessert, and sandwiches and cream teas.

As we will be flying for 9 hours plus, I presume we would get a hot meal, but all I can see on line is the menu to buy cold snack packs. I know we get free drinks throughout the flight.

Can anybody help?

Thanks Vicky x

We used them at Easter and didn't go hungry. We got a snack, a hot meal and a smaller hot meal on the transatlantic leg (6-7 hours each) and a snack on th shorter domestic leg. It was all edible. Drinks are complimentary, didn't have alcohol so not sure on that one. This was in Economy - Economy Comfort is the same as Economy is all other respects other than the seat itself.

Ahh Thanks, I thought as much, just nice to know we'll be well fed and don't have to rush trying to have a massive breakfast at the airport, or paying for sandwiches in the departure lounge to take with us. As for the alcohol , that is included and will probably have a cheeky glass of wine with lunch. We're on holiday after all :drinking1

Yeah, it's still airline food so as always, I'd eat before you get on the plane :lmao:

We got Dominos at the other end :)

Just read Matts blog, my lad and his GF are travelling Delta next July so interesting to see. Love Matts blogs, one day I'll go back through all the posts before I discovered it

We flew with Delta in May and it was the usual sort of airline food, pretty comparable to virgin etc. It was the first time we've ever gone indirect and will most definitely be doing it again as it was a breeze.

Out of interest which airport did you transfer through? We are torn between JFK or Atlanta? Depending on which one has the best layover time for transferring my husbands wheelchair.

We flew through Detroit on our way out as we were going to Chicago before Orlando so I can't be of any help sorry.

We went through Atlanta this Aug/Sep and it was fine (we always get lost in Paris CDG!) You just need to find which terminal you need and head up or down in the lift and get on the tube type train to your terminal (numbered A B C D &). Once there you walk to your gate number and they're pretty close together along a large open corridor. Shops and food places and toilets are all along here too.

Immigration looked really busy but they were getting through everyone fairly quickly and there are a lot of desks.

Wouldn't hesitate to use ATL again.

Just wanted to add we had wheelchair assistance at Atlanta and Orlando and it was very good, they meet you at the plane door and take you to where you need to be and then collect you at the gate to board the plane.
