Honestly, no. I feel comfortable doing just about anything solo. Including going to the movies, eating meals etc. I really don't care what other people think. I just go. I have met so many fun people while just standing in line for a ride or show. . .

I have a hard time picturing myself going on It's A Small World just by myself. But you have to realize: I'm 6' 5"/240 lbs. I'd just feel funny being placed next to people, who'd then realize: "Hey, we're in the boat with an immense 39 year old man who's on his own." I'd feel bad for them, cause I feel I'd be distracting at the very least, maybe disconcerting.

Other than stuff like that, no, I can't think of anything else. I'd have no problem going to restaurants or thrill rides by myself.

The only issue I've had as a single person was when I went to Universal Studios Islands of Adventure to see Harry Potter World. WWOHP is small and takes less than half a day to see so I wandered around the rest of the park. The Pteranodon Flyers is an awsome ride for two people; but you are REQUIRED to take a child on with you. I couldn't find anyone who had an extra child to spare. :sad2:

I would LOVE to do Tom Sawyer Island by myself! My niece always moves too fast for me.

I am reading Tom Sawyer to her right now and we are both enjoying it immensely. She will 'git' more of the theming there so maybe she'll slow down next time. (And...just to clarify...I'm not reading it to her just so I can spend extra time on TSI!!! :) )

I can't think of a ride or show I would skip were I alone...enjoy!

:santa::santa::santa:

I have been there with kids, with out and solo. I have had a blast every time.

There is nothing within the parks that I wouldn't do solo. I drank around the world at Epcot by myself, and felt completely at ease. I went to Jellyrolls by myself and had a blast. I went to the old Pleasure Island by myself, and although it was early, I felt pretty safe.

What I wouldn't do by myself? As a small female, I wouldn't have felt comfortable going to the old Pleasure Island on staff nights (I think this was Thursdays). And I for sure wouldn't feel comfortable going to Citywalk in Universal Studios by myself after 10pm.

But, as far as rides go, I would go on everything solo (however, I would choose not to go on some rides, ie: Its a small world!).

I wouldn't do Space Mountain by myself. I've taken lots of solo trips, but haven't done SM since DH went to MK with me about 10 years ago. I need someone to be able to hold onto.

I have to say there isn't one ride I wouldn't do alone. You have so much...flexibility when you ride solo. Sometimes you can get on faster because they need '1more person' before they can start the ride.
good luck and totally enjoy your freedom

I can't think of anything I wouldn't do as a solo traveller. Enjoy your trip.

I wouldn't go to a character meal by myself. I would feel SUPER strange about that.

That's what I used to think. Finally on my eighth solo trip, I took a deep breath and went to one. What a great time! The characters just waved to me as they went by (they started to come over but I waved them off). The meal went by so fast as I really enjoyed watching the characters interacting with the children. And although I had thought beforehand that people might look at me weird ("look at that poor person all alone"), I discovered that unless you bear a striking resemblance to the characters that are there, no one's going to notice you. I swear-sometimes I think you could run around naked at a character meal, and no one's going to look-they're all just looking for the characters. However, that's one theory I'm not going to test.

On Thanksgiving Day 2010 - I did Kim Possible in Epcot and had a great time. My husband would never do that. I do not have children. I was so happy do Epcot alone that day. :woohoo: I did soaring 3xs, Test Track 2xs. Do what you want to do and have fun. ;)

I will not eat at a table service restaurant during a solo trip. I have eaten many solo meals on business trips and other occasions, and have read about other solo travelers' positive experiences about dining alone at WDW, but I can't bring myself to do it. I realize that its completely irrational, and want to encourage other solo diners to continue to do it and share their stories. Hopefully one day (soon) I will get over my phobia!

Despite the advice that's given here a lot, I wouldn't eat at the bar as a solo. I think I would feel more pressure to be social with the people around me or the bartender, whereas at a table I'm comfortable just people-watching.

:grouphug: You know, I sometimes open a "solo traveller" thread even though I've never been one because I wonder if you'll post, and it reminds me of the time we ate together at Biergarten in 2009. Hope all is well with you!! (and we'll have to meet at the Biergarten again soon!)

That was so sweet!! You just made my night!! Hope you and your family are doing well.

...and to those who say they wouldn't eat at Biergarten as a solo, I did and met Mari and her family. It was a stretch for me to try it, but I'm so glad I did.

Don't push yourself-it will happen, eventually. My first 3 solo trips, I only at CS because I felt uncomfortable eating TS. Then I read about how all these solos were comfortable with TS so I figured I ought to be. Well, I tried TS and STILL felt uncomfortable. So I went back to CS for a couple more trips. Then I decided to try TS again because I wanted to, not because I "ought to" and it's perfectly OK now.

I might skip MVMCP. I went once with my friend, but I think it is family oriented and I might be bored by myself. I am spending a day at the MK (but of course!) and I don't think I want to spend the extra $60 to do MVMCP. I really only wanted to see the Castle lit up, and apparently they do that before MVMCP begins.

I might change my mind when I get there which is why I didn't buy a ticket in advance. It depends; I might go resort hopping instead.

I've done just about EVERYTHING solo so far. On my next trip in May I'm doing something that I didn't think I'd do solo...I'm going to the Hoop De Do Revue. I've been to the Luau solo but not the HDDR. The Luau was fine but you don't have that second floor people looking down on you sitting at your table alone.

Overall though I've got a fairly thick skin about that sort of thing. So the heck with what they're thinking, I'm there to enjoy the show!
