We stayed there one night through Hotwire for $57. The room, bed, furnishings, shower/tub, toiletries were great. The hotel wasn't really family friendly through. It's close to the convention center and attracts a lot of business travelers. Try SkyAuction.com and you should get a room for less than $50 per night.

We went to a convention there -- didn't stay at the hotel, but spent a lot of time there. It's very upscale, nice and huge. The location was good, it's near Sea World. But they did charge us for parking... you might want to check to see if you would have to pay to park, as that would add considerably to your cost.

Beautiful hotel, great rooms, but definitely more convention/business oriented. And a sandwich downstairs in the deli will set you back over $10!

Didn't pay to park the few times I've stayed there, but definitely double-check if you can.

On I-Drive, but the "nice" part of I-Drive, near Bahama Breeze. Not even 5 minutes from I-4.

I agree with the others -- very nice hotel, but definitely geared toward convention/business travelers. Their self-parking lot was way at the back of the hotel and it was about a 1/2 mile walk through the building to get to the elevators to get to the room. Very hard to do with three small children after a long day at the theme parks. Also, my kids seemed to attract so much attention when they were just being kids, goofing off at the pool, ring around the rosy in the lobby, etc. Of course, I may be biased, but I don't think my kids behaved badly, they were just being kids. We tried to keep them out of everyone's way but it seemed like we were always stepping on someone's toes. The "business" people at the hotel seemed too stuffy for us. We got the room on Priceline for $42/night but have been gun-shy about bidding the Universal area for a 3* because we might get the Rosen again. Of course, if you're traveling without kids, you may prefer the Rosen. Have a great trip whatever you decide.

ETA: forgot to mention, the self-parking lot was free when we were there, just very far away!

We stayed for 2 nights last year when our Virgin flight was delayed.

As others have said, nice hotel but not very family friendly :sad2:
DD (then 6) came back from the pool in tears saying that she'd been 'told off' for being too noisy :confused3

Lots of business people, in suits, sitting around the pool with their cocktails
Guess I'd stay there without kids but not with :thumbsup2
