General Star Wars Discussion

Either way, it was a revision to it that improved it, not only from look, but character mannerisms

It definitely helps bring a little cohesion to the OT, which as much as people rip on the sequels for lacking that singular vision, the OT didnn't really have it either. The Special Editions helped with that. It wasn't just the VFX that got cleaned up. That's why I'd like to see new SE's of all of them.

I don't mind the original Emperor as it was more mysterious and the story was more that Vader found out that he had a son and was plotting to overthrow the Emperor by turning his son to the dark side. The new version makes it so Vader doesn't get that Luke is his son with Padme but instead the Emperor knows. I liked that Vader was looking for a way to kill his master, like Sith always do. I guess Lucas needing to superconnect everything felt very unnecessary to me. If he had added Ian but kept the dialogue the same, it would've been better IMO. OT actor erasure is real. Growing up not knowing who Anakin was until Jedi made the revelation that much greater. It's also why I do not like Hayden being the force ghost at the end. Luke never saw that version of his father. The redeemed one was the one he saw, not the one who turned.

Didn't the SE and later releases get rid of Yub Nub at the end of Jedi? Weesaaaa freeeeeee!

The SE did replace Yub Nub with new music by john Williams and showed celebrations across a few planets. The ending was changed again in the 2004 release to include some planets as they were created for the prequels, including Naboo, while the music remained the same.

But then you get less awkward dancing from everyone.

TWDC and Gina Carano settled her discrimination lawsuit. According to TWDC's statement, Gina treated colleagues with kindness and respect Maybe Rangers of the New Republic isn't dead after all? If so, I am not necessarily excited for it but I will keep an open mind.
Nah, it's dead. Maybe they'll put her in the Mando movie if it hasn't wrapped up yet or she can show up in Ahsoka season 2.
