Sorry your stay was less than ideal. I've been around these boards for a few years and it always seems that it takes a while for DVC to work the kinks out at a new resort. Hopefully this will be the case with BLT.

We went in Oct. for a family vacation. Ten of us in a BLT Grand Villa. I had read there were problems and read about many horror stories here before we went. I was so worried I actually called DVC Member Services before we left to go down. I am happy to report that we had no issues. I think there are those who have a problem and right away people think the whole place is in the same condition as their room was. Granted no one should have a poorly cleaned room or one that shows a lot of wear and tear and I think DVC does have some issues that need to be addressed in regard to mousekeeping and maintenance at this resort but on the whole, I think BLT is a very nice resort...smjj

so sorry you had to go through this. as far as i can tell , you
didn't own anyone "apologies" for a misunderstanding. [ i knew
exactly what type of reference you was making, & it wasn't
judging anyone. ]

as for your observation, my area of work is directly related
to this situation. we think our education system is failing-
by ignoring these basic needs for "growth & developmental"
skills. "what good is being the top kid in your class", if you can't
get along with your peers? we are seeing "kids"-combat
veterans , 30 + years old, & are very confuse by "adulthood".

just today , the lab tech. was expressing her observations
about her friends. very insightful , young lady. she was
expressing how many of her peers are lost.

as for your report. thank you. i made a copy, as we won't
settle for anymore rooms that are left in poor condition.
[ i have made that clear with m. services & they agreed.
oh i had pictures too.]

as for those reporting prefect/nice rooms, i would hope that
all were not in such sad shape. we are blt owners. but why
should we have rooms needing major repairs / even dirty,
where others are not? we will not accept this anymore. and
i don't want my dues to pay for vandalism from whoever
does it.

fyi- i copy your report because i believe you. why? would any
dvc owner make up such a story? many times, when someone
post something similar they get jump on. i didn't read any single
line of you pointing @ those taking it personal. i think there are
many here trying to do "damage control" because they
are covering up stuff , as in having a different agenda.

did you read the 4th of july towl thread? while i agree, that
wdw is for adults as much as it is for children, they wouldn't have to
"ask" if their children could get up front to see- if the adults would
following the rules. i have several thread how many planned on sneaking
up to the towl. if you shouldn't be there then why go? we
were there on the first, new years, & it was packed shoulder to
shoulder. 499 i was told was the limit. why should my children
not be able to see because there are adults sneaking in? i was
prepared to do what i paid for vs those taking advantage.

i'm old fashioned & set in my ways. while i'm in charge and writing
our programs, i know i have my "corks" like everyone else. a long
time ago, i recognized blaming as ineffective coping. i am a believer
in doing problem solving too. from what we got into [dvc] , i think
owners [ that are not working for dvc] needs to start asking
questions, & learning what is really going on. if all owners can pull &
work together, might prevent some of the bad things. some of the
trends being expressed on these board taught me that.

i think you would like my wife...of course everybody does. me?
i am lucky to break the 50% mark. however, it is proven that
one does not needs the whole world to like them, just a few-
who accept and value them for being themselves. i hope
this does not prevent you from posting in the future. :flower3:

Oh, I am sorry, as long as you say "In my opinion" and "Just Saying" you can post anything you want?!? :confused3

The statement was, "In my opinion the people that have grown up in the last 20 years or so lack the honesty, integrity and manners that I was taught growing up.”Just Saying” .

Let me give it a go....
"My family does not want to go to WDW anymore because.....

In my opinion the people that are over 65 lack the honesty, integrity and manners that I was taught growing up.”Just Saying”.

In my opinion the people that don't have the same religon as melack the honesty, integrity and manners that I was taught growing up.”Just Saying”.

These are not true and are absurd, they also have no place on a discussion board of this nature. I have no problems with someone saying, "I don't like (insert resort here) and would never stay there" or "I think people who spend that much money to eat at V&A are silly". The post was a personal attack on some of the values I hold most dear and to group everyone from the last 20 years and state that they lacking these is beyond the pale.

I find it inane that in the same post you start a rant about people trying to get up to the towl who should not be there. How many of those people who lack "honesty, integrity, and manners" have "grown up in the last 20 years or so"?

As the original posts in theis thread have been removed, there is no longer any sort of DVC specific topic. It is now closed.
