Delayed Auditory Processing? Any info?

my 4 year old Karissa has CAPD. She was diagnosed at 2 as well.


Its very hard to get a solid diagnosis at this age because so much of what they test for a "normal" 2 year old wouldnt know anyway.


Contact your local Health and welfare dept. They can get you into Early intervention. Im always amazed at how the people in our program help these kids! They are miracle workers as far as Im concerned!

Both my kids have sensory integration disorder, so I'm not tuned into what would be helpful for you. Just thought I'd throw in that our occupational therapist suggested drinking thick things through a straw. We found that a cup of cold yogurt is hard to drink through a straw and they loved it. Just another thing you might want to try. Just stay away from the really chunky flavors or he might get frustrated. Good luck.

I wanted to mention that my son also has SID and we use the pudding in the cups with straws for drinking thick items.
