Defective Dooney & Bourke Purses

Had this happen and sent it to DB and ended up with it replaced free of charge.

on which bag did the yellowing happen? The IT bag or a Disney bag?

I don't think they carry the same IT bag anymore though, so I don't think they'll exactly "replace" it.

gotta be better than it is now, though.

I know this thread was mostly about the red striping coming off the handles of the DCL sketch bags, but I'm asking about yellowing of the bag from white to yellow, and I've even seem some yucky brownish coloring on the older IT bags.

I recently purchased the DCL sketch one from ebay from a seller who very carefully found the bag with perfect pattern placement, and I couldn't resist.

However, I am concerned about the yellowing factor. I had this happen to me on one of the older "IT" bags. I sent it back to them and they gave me credit (about half what I paid) to put it towards another bag. This time I picked real leather, so I'm sure there won't be a problem again with the coated cotton.

I did ask them why it happened in the first place on my IT bag and didn't really get a good answer. I explained that I really hope it doesn't happen again on the DCL sketch bag and they lady claims they are using a different process than they used to? Not sure I'm buying that, but like I said I did love the sketch bag and couldn't resist. I really hope I don't regret that purchase as well!

If it does end up yellowing, I'll be sending it back as well, but just hate to go through that as well as knowing I won't be getting back a full credit for it.

I have one D&B bag (non disney), and I will never buy another. The shoulder strap started to peel. I called Coach by accident (most of my bags are Coach and I had a brain fart) and they were horrified and told me to send it back right away and they would replace it. When I figured it was actually D&B I called them and I was told the best they would do is sell me another at half off. Really? No thanks.

Same thing happened with mine, but instead or worrying, I pulled it off all the way. Looks fine and no issue.

I'm not a huge fan of Dooney, but I do have some. They seem to warranty them fine. It's a good idea to register your purse when you purchase it.



I had one (not disney) that started to come apart at the seam. I called and the told me to send it back and it'd either be repaired or I would be given a replacement bag. I received a band new one and they refunded my shipping.
