Hi! :wave2:
Does anyone know anything about either the Embassy Suites or Ocean Terrace Suites in Deerfield Beach ?
Websites can be deceiving!
Thanks! :cool1:

My family ( me, wife, son 11, son 9, daughter 8 and daughter 5) stayed at the Deerfield Beach property last November and had a wonderful time. We had originally booked the DVC at Vero Beach but it was still closed because of the hurricane.

The Embassy Suites was clean and neat, and like other Embassy Suites, the breakfast and cocktail hour were complimentary. It was very nice relaxing by the pool with a complimentary drink. Each night there was a different frozen drink special. The breakfast included made to order omelets.

The service was good and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. A nice touch was complimentary orange slices being handed out near the pool and on the beach. The pool and hot tub were both nice.

One negative was very slow service at the restaurant, as long as you have a car, there are plenty of places to go and eat, however. Also, although it looks like the resort is right on the beach, there is actually a small street in between. This did not present any problems, however, in fact the trees lining the street often had wild parrots in them. There were beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach.

The hotel had complementary pool and beach toys, including pails and shovels and boogie boards.

We spent our free time on the beach and also went to a Gmeworks and the Disney Outlet at Sawgrass Mills, went for an airboat ride in the Everglades, and visited Boomers, an entertainment complex with laser tag, go karts, mini golf etc.

You may find some reviews of the hotel on www.flyertalk in the Miles and Points, Hilton forum.

If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

Steve

Thank you! :flower:
Is there ANYTHING within walking distance of this hotel?
I was also wondering how much the beach area got torn up from hurricanes.
Thanks.

Stayed at Embassy Suites in Deerfield Beach many times with my DW, DS, and DD over the past 5 years. It's very good and I do not hesitate to recommend it. :bounce: A few minor problems were immediately resolved to our satisfaction. The bartender at happy hour remembered our drinks on the second day. The breakfast cook knew my DD wanted eggs over easy the 2nd morning. Great service! :flower: A little pricey - but worth it. (3.5 hour drive to WDW) :cool1:
WARNING: IMHO - DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES STAY AT THE COMFORT INN JUST NORTH OF THERE - NO MATTER WHAT THE PRICE DIFFERENCE. We tried to save $ . . . once! Rude staff, outdated rooms, smokers galore (everywhere). We booked a guaranteed non-smoking king and upon arrival the front desk said they had none. Said for what we were paying we could have a double or leave! I asked for manager and was told he was out to dinner and they didn't know when he'd return! Since it was 9 pm we decided to stay. Went to the double room and there were already people in it! Next day when I spoke to the manager about the stained carpet, outdated bathroom in poor condition, rude clerk, wrong room assignment, etc. the first thing he said was "How much did you pay?" Then he said "That's our lowest rate, you're lucky that you got an ocean view at all."
When I asked them to honor their 100% satisfaction guarantee - he offered to give me 50% off! I've since destroyed my frequent guest membership card and will NEVER stay at a Comfort, Quality, Clarion, Sleep or any other hotel in their chain again. OK - enuf ranting.STAY AT EMBASSY SUITES!!!!!
Not really walking distance, several places to eat about a mile north though.
P.S. IDK why those keep showing up.

IF we end up going, we would like a nice suite hotel.I love Embassy Suites, but I had read a few negative reviews. Nice to hear good stuff about this one. It does not appear in the ads that this one is the typical soaring atrium with beautifully landscaped lobby. My DD loves that aspect of the ES.
Still interested in opinions about the Ocean Terrace Suites which is supposed to be pretty close to the pier.
Thank you all! :cool1:

Yes, you're right. It's not the typical ES, but the breakfast and HH are served in an oceanfront dining area, either inside or out! We always try to stay at ES and the Deerfield Beach Resort is one of our favorites. :cool1:
BTW: the "Ocean Terrace" isn't the Howard Johnson's by the pier, is it? If so I'd stay at ES, even though that's walking distance to food. :confused3

No, I think Ocean Terrace is more like a condo-hotel. It is comprised of 1 BR and 3 BR units. The Embassy Suites does sound nice!
Thanks,All!! :flower:
