We are packing for Boardwalk....leaving tomorrow...yahoo! Do you know if people are allowed to decorate the balconies for holidays?

I know we can and do at OKW, so I don't see why you couldn't at BWV too.

I ws really surprised last week to see only one view balcony at BW decorated. As Diane says, we OKW'ers go a little crazy with our light displays! :rotfl:

OKW have a sockit (okay I don't know the correct word) out on their balconies.

I don't think the BWV does - so bring an extension cord.

If the BWV rooms that are BW view have all decorated balconies, I don't know if Disney would frown on that or not-after all, the individually decorated balconies might interfere with the ambiance (from their point of view). At OKW, there's not that concern, since the different balconies aren't all one huge building. Frankly, I love to see all the different balcony decorations at OKW-reminds me of it truly being everyone's "Home". But, at BWV, I've never seen decorated balconies over the holidays.

Even at OKW I would recommend an extension cord as the outlet may not be close enough even though it's on the balcony, as I found out!

Just don't decorate your balcony with a hibachi or barbeque grill. ;)

We decorated out BWV balcony with white icicle lights. Last year we had the slat type railing, so I used white wired ribbon to tie the lights on. This year we had a solid wood railing so had to use 3M command strip hooks. We also used dental floss (any port in a storm!) to tie the ends of the light string to chairs on the balcony, in case the hooks let loose. Didn't want lights falling on the boardwalk below! Do bring an extension cord (we needed a 12 foot one). No outlet on the balcony like at OKW.
One balcony at BWV had a cool Mickey head shape. It was made with a green light wreath for face and snowflake lights for ears. Very clever!

We wrapped the lights around our OKW balcony rail and used a short extension cord to get to the outlet. It is one wall next to the french door between that and the Master bedroom door. We just used masking tape to secure the ends.

We are in BWV now, and there are a few balconies decorated. I see several trees in the windows (very cool!).

Have fun!!

If you have a camera and the time, could you take some pictures? I'd love to see them!
Have a great holiday at the World! (You're soooo lucky! I'm jealous!) :rotfl:

We stayed at BCV beginning of Dec. and brought lights, extension cord and power strip. The lights went around the balcony. Unfortunately, I did not take a picture from the ground looking up at our room. There were a couple other balconies decorated.

I'm back home now. And I didn't take a picture of the balconies. I don't think it would have turned out if I did, my camera doesn't seem to like night time.

The last night that we were there, we saw a balcony with a BW view (2 bedroom?), and they had lights and an inflated Christmas Mickey. Soooo cool!!
