Does anyone know when they are put up. DW and I stayed at OKW last weekend and decided to go check out the decorations at WL. MIL went this time for her first trip to Disney ever and just stood there looking up, up, up in awe and the holiday decorations added to the overall theme of the resort. I had already been thinking about going back next year for Thanksgiving to OKW but now I am considering VWL but would like for the decorations to be up when we go.

Thanks

BTW, anyone wanna trade 136 OKW points for their VWL points so I can get 11 mo window:teeth:

we *might* because we want a GV for the summer of 2004, I think. But of course the point totals won't be the same at all. Is there anyway that one person can transfer their points in to a second person's VWL account and use them for a stay, and the second person could then transfer their points in to the first person's okw account and use them that way? It seems more complicated than just making the reservation, but it seems like it would be next to impossible to find two trips with the same number of points -

We arrived at VWL on Nov. 18 and Christmas decorations were up. A tree lighting ceremony was held Nov. 19.

We visited WDW the Monday after Thanksgiving and stayed at POR. We spent most of our time on a tour of the resorts to look at the decorations. We saw the BoardWalk, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and lastly the Wilderness Lodge. The WL was our favorite. The lobby is always awe-inspiring when you enter but this time there was this huge tree in the center soaring towards the roof. It was loaded with decorations appropriate to WL. As we looked up at the tree we also noticed garlands decorating the railings on the various floors. There were large wreaths hanging on the walls near the doors facing the pool as well as in various hallways. I noticed that these wreaths were themed for WL. In the center of each one there is a moose antler. I inspected one hanging at eye level near Roaring Fork and noted that the decorations included small covered wagons, cowboy boots, bird feathers, and some wild flowers. Some of the garlands also had chains of Indian beads on them. In all we very impressed.

It is also worth a trip to see the decorations at the Grand Floridian. When you get off the monorail and are walking across the bridge to the front door, be sure to look over the railing. There are raindeer fashioned from sticks and painted white grazing in a field of red poinsettias. Inside there is a huge tree with Victorian-style decorations as well as an abundance of other wreaths and garlands. On the main floor there is a large gingerbread house. It is so large that there is a small gift store inside. I understand that it was a big task to bake all of the gingerbread that was used on the roofs and walls. The decorations in the resorts and parks truly make this a magical time to visit WDW.

When our cruise was cancelled 22hrs before we were due to fly, we decided to go to WDW. It was our first time ever there during the Christmas holidays. We didnt see Illuminations or Fantasmic this time as we had just experienced them last year.
However, I did make sure we got to the Animal Kingdom Lodge (which I had never seen before), the Wilderness Lodge (our home), Contemporary (Chef Mickey's dinner), Polynesian (Ohana's dinner) to see the Christmas trees and decorations. Quite beautiful. I believe the only resort we missed was the Grand Floridian as DH has no interest there.
And we got to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade/Party - the pictures came out awesome. And we got to see the Osborne Lights in MGM (and brought home the glasses to use on our own tree).
Guess it was a magical time after all!

As dlvanslyke stated, the trees were up before Thanksgiving.

We stayed at the VWL during the holiday season last year, and it makes this resort even more magical.

Not only is the main building absolutely beautiful, the VWL is also decorated. They had a tree in their atrium that must have had a zillion white lights. It was a very welcome sight as we came and went.

Yes we also got to see the VWL decorated for Christmas. And I got a peek at the studio and 1 bedroom. Oct 04 Im hoping to stay there during our WDW vaca
