Decorating your resort room?

Okay I have my stuff...tell me how this sounds....

Red White & Blue lights from target ($3.00)
USA/Flag/Star Gel Clings from Target ($3.00)
An all weather flag from my house we already had
Stringing together some Red/Blue Mickey Heads
and Printing a sign out and laminating it

We will be using Suction cups to hold it all up (other than the clings)

oh and of course I would be putting up our alien green mickey heads.

Speaking of Mickey heads I have some that I can send to people if they need them because I wont be using anything but blue and red (w/ a few alien green).

I found this thread a while ago. Good Luck!

Thanks for the link...:goodvibes Next question is can you just print them or does your computer have to have some type of special program to print in reverse order? Sorry for the 20?'s but I've never done this before and I dont want to waste money by printing them up on the paper (clings) n they are backwards. Which would be something I would do! :rotfl:

here's a design I made for a window cling for our trip in Sept. It can be used as a sign also. I put my user name in the middle of the mickey head.

WOW! I just found this thread, I LOVE this! I may be borrowing it also, thank you so much!

Can I borrow it too!? :flower3:
I was looking for a sign to print out for the window, i dont know how to make a window cling.

Sure you can use it.

Okay where are you all getting your window cling paper at, and how much is it costing you all???

I've been wanting to do this for a while, but also wanted the generic clings from the stores too. BUT, I cant find either (the generic clings I want are patriotic) right now.

If I cant find the cling paper to print them on would it be corny to get some laminating film and cover them, then just poke a hole in the top and hang them w/ suction cups?

I found window decal paper at office depot with the photo paper it is office depot brand and I think it was 13.99 for 10 sheets

Wow, my goodness, I'm glad I stumbled across this thread! Such cool ideas from all of you guys :)

For our trip immediately after Labor Day, yes, it's our honeymoon but considering that we actually got married the end of June, we're being real low-key about it! We had to put our honeymoon off for a couple months due to financial concerns, but we're going!

That said, my new husband is going to look at me like I'm crazy, but I don't care. We have a ton of almost brand new blue painter's tape and I can take a roll of that along with some lime green mickey heads (thanks for the tip, by the way!) and put them on our door when we get to the Caribbean Beach Resort. Painters tape will work nicely for this because it doesn't take the paint off when it comes off, and it doesn't leave residue behind. I oughta know, we used miles of it after closing but before we moved into our first house 14 months ago!

Something like (one word per head) Do You Dis? Whitewater And Fish Are Here! Honeymoon 2009. Just in black Sharpie, those samples won't go through my printer.

The Diser's will know that we're honeymooning, but we won't make a big deal out of it. Neither DH nor I enjoy being the obvious, obnoxious center of attention. Inconspicuous celebrating, that's us! :rotfl:

And, since it's cheap to get a bunch of those slip-in name tag thingies with the pin backs already on them, I figured on getting a half dozen or so (or less, if I can get them individually), putting the lime green mickey heads in the badges, and putting them on our luggage, on my bag that will go in the parks, and maybe even wearing one on my shirt each day, along with our Honeymooner buttons.

Of course, I'm still pretty new here . . . is there a senority thing? Will it be ok that I'll only have been a DIS member for a bit over a month by the time we wind up in WDW? Do I have the right to wear and/or display Lime Green Mickey Heads? Kind of kidding, sort of serious :)

I really enjoy meeting the people on my forums and getting their pictures and so on, being able to put a face and a tone of voice to the screen name. Every other time I've met people, it's worked out fabulously!

I got a ton of mickey heads, laminated them, and stuck magnetic tape on the back. Here is what I have for our room at Pop:

Whoo hoo! I got a ton of mickey heads from home depot. 3 people and going in a few times = lots of mickey heads lol. Can someone please tell me how to make a mickey head garland? I have 2 rooms to decorate and i am trying to figure out if i should staple the mh's together or use string? any help would be awesome!

Here's what I did;

soak the mickey heads in a bowl of water for a minute or so. Gently peel the heads off the cardboard backing. Any leftover paper on the heads will rub off. Let dry. (they will try to roll, I stuck them on my counter)

Once dry I glued two heads together with ribbon between them them. I used orange and black heads on purple ribbon. I made a very long piece of garland since I didn't know how much I would need. Once at my resort, I cut them to fit.

Does anyone out there have an estimate about how big the windows at the All Star Sports resort are? I'm starting to work on my Mickey Heads and need to know how long I will have to cut the ribbons.

TIA.

Our local Walgreens has orange pumpkin lights, really nice Disney window clings, and a couple other Disney Halloween decorations!

Wal-greens has the cutest Mickey pumpkin to trick or treat with.......Jus thought I would put that in.

I just got a bunch of Halloween decorations from the local dollar store. They had all sorts of window clings, garland, and other decorations. So you may want to check out one of those by you.:)
