Decorating your resort room?

Pretty sure Pop has metal doors. I will be there also Oct. 7-12 and plan on decorating the window again. :cool1:

Pop does have metal doors! I plan to decorate our window/door when I go down with my daughter in Sept. She thinks I'm a "tool" but I don't care... I plan to decorate anyway. I decorated my window last year at AllStar Music and had a blast getting everything ready. Plan to do more this year! I think Julianne will be ok with it after it's all said and done!:rotfl:

We are going to AKL in March :banana::banana: and i want to decorate any ideas of what we can do???:confused3 There will be Birthdays for a few of the kids. TIA :thumbsup2

This is our second trip and I knew nothing about decorating the room with our last trip so this time I have made all kinds of designs to decorate. I used my cricut to make some and then printed a lot of designs from the wonderful designers on this site. will post pics when we return home.:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Do you know if you can decorate at the DVC's? THis is our 1st trip to WDW and we are staying in Saraoga Springs and if you can decoarte there are their doors metal also?

Lime green is the color the disers pick to let everyone know that they are disers!!! It is how you know a friend in the parks!!

Be caeful though !Some people just wear lime green!!!:lmao:If you spy a LGMH on them though they will be a Disser!!!! I used MHs to make up Tip notes for Mousekeeping !! I also leave a candy with it and the Tip!!!

After being excited to get some mickey heads from Home Depot, I just realized that the only one within an hour from me has closed :( I guess I will have to search for lime green posterboard and make my own??
Also, silly question...what do you do with the erase boards that you have talked about?

What a great thread!! My DF and I are going to going to be honeymooning at WDW next May (it's our first trip to WDW!), and I was wondering if anyone had any decorating suggestions? Any cute Disney just married sort of designs you've seen somewhere? Anything at all would be awesome! :cutie:

One more thing maybe someone can help me with! We're staying at BWV and I'd like to try making clings for decorating somehow; do those clings stick to doors or just windows?

I havent thought of bringing any decorations for the room I am sharing with my sister's 2 kids & my mother @ Pop.

But I am "smuggling" in my back pack as a surprise, the stuffed Dale and Thumper my sister and I got when we went to Disney many years ago the first time to put on the beds in hopes of getting a towel animal or 2....:cool1:

I tried to message you but was unable to do so :( Hopefully I can draw some on a poster board. Thank you for the offer though! Hope you have a wonderful time!!

I found Christmas Disney Clings the year we went to WDW in Dec. I also made some decorations for a small 3ft tree that we sat on the table and placed it in front of the window. We totally unplugged it when leaving the room. I also made some mickey head decorations for the room and purchased 2 small and one large wreaths that I wired together, added a bow and made my own Mickey Head wreath (cost was less than $5 since I bought all the supplies at dollar tree). Then I got one of the metal door hangers you slip over the door and hung the wreath on the front door of our resort room. We drove down so taking things on a plane was not a problem. I also bent the hook part so that my Mickey head wreath would not go home with someone else, I know but people do things like that and I would have been crushed.

Just start looking for the clings in places like Walmart and dollar stores, hmmm start looking just after Halloween, you should find something.

I made a mickey head wreath from the dollar store as well, only since we drove DH attached it to the front of the van. Using a metal door hanger I hung a basket that I painted red and decorated with Christmas ribbon and put little peppermint candies in it. I just couldn't see paying $40-$50 for a wreath from the Disney store when I could make my own for way less, I am imagine you had the same thought. DH thought I was a little goofy a first, but quickly got on board.

I think a lot of family members think we are nuts !! :lmao:But I don't care !! I love seeing my room across the resort all lit up!!! :lovestrucThe kids kinda get into it but myDD thinks I am certifiable:rotfl2: I still need the pastel colored MHs and then I am set !! We go next month and I will post pix of the rooms !!

there are quite a few designers who do wedding signs - search on that forum for bride and groom.:goodvibes

Do you need some shipped? My HD never seems to run out - and I am pretty sure I am the only Dis member in the area!

The basket with candies was a good idea. I had not seen the ones from Disney yet, but figured they existed. I just knew I would just feel awful if I spent a lot of money making my decoration and then someone came along and decided they liked it more than me and just took it. Now I know that no REAL Disney person would do such a thing, but the occasional rotten egg does get in. Therefore, making it from supplies found at the DT seemed like a good idea, I had less than $5 invested and knew I could make another if need be. We had the wreath laying on the rear dash board, would have been cute on the front like you did, but I don't know if the grill was big enough and it was a rental, would not have wanted extra charges.

We are now in the process of making decorations for our room for the trip in September. Can not wait, and I hope we get them done in time, the one my mother is making is taking longer than expected. What I am making is nearly done! I will have to take lots of pics and figure out how to post them for all to see.
