Decorating your resort room?

How did u do the Mickey head on the window?? U just taped the back???? Did u do the door before hand?? I have those heads and I dont know how to put them up, do i need to laminate???? HELP???????????????

Love your window decorations! We are going in Sept for my DD's 9th birthday, and my Mom is coming with us now...it will be her first time at Disney and I kind of want to make it special for her as well! Can you tell me where you got your birthday banner for the window? We are staying at Pop and I sure as heck can't wait to be back in the magic of the world again!
(can you PM me as sometimes I get lost on the boards and don't get back to check on posts...lol just soo much info to take in!)

Has anyone had problems with the resort asking you to remove decorations? I dont want to work super hard on mine this year just to take them down!! EEK! I have never had a problem with them asking us to take down before.. but saw a 2008 thread today where people were asked to remove decor?

Here's my windows at Coronado Springs. (no problems at all with decorating!)
I made all of the clings with the help of the people on this board! Thanks guys!

Subscribing...we're going in Dec. to celebrate two birthdays just before Christmas. It never occurred to me to decorate the windows or room!

We'll have two rooms at Pop, so I thought I might do one for the birthdays and one for Christmas. Or should I make them both holiday & birthday? What do you think?

I have not heard of any cases. Was it maybe something inappropriate? I can't imagine having to take it down unless it was inappropriate, damaging, or somehow unsafe to the staff.

That's a tough choice! I would probably combine the two for both windows.

I put lights up when I stayed at ASMu. I brought a small extension cord. It was needed. So I would bring one. The plug was very near the window but the cord was short on my lights.

Hi, I'm re-posting my question just in case it got overlooked. I'm really wanting to know...does anybody out there have an inkling? Maybe I should try to call AKL.

We will be staying at AKL the first week of December. Does anyone know if it's possible to put lights on your balcony...either strands or on a small tree? Do they have outlets out there? Is it even allowed? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

I think it would be lovely to decorate your AKL balcony but I do not know if it is allowed. It would probably be best to call the resort front dest and ask because then you would get a straight answer and a CM's name in case anyone ever questions you.

I never had decorated my room before. But one day when me and my mom went up for the MNSSHP, the first night we were there we were coming back from DHS when we saw decoration in our window. It surprised us and it came out really nice. We had my pitch fork with orange and black mickeys and glitter. It was so cute. Thanks Housekeeper! But I know when I go up there for me and my fiances wedding we will "bling" out the room

I need some reallyyy good ideas, I want to suprise her by having the room decorated before she arrives in it!! (We're going to think of a plan to keep her away from the room) But anyways, I need some good ideas..so far I'm thinking of those mickey paint swaps at HD, (LOVE IT) and maybe a banner...but any other suggestions???

I would do a few scrapbook pages and hand them in the window. Maybe put up a blank scrapbook page that says "Spending My Birthday with the Mouse and a few Friends" Put some stickers on it and hand it on the outside of your door. Then put a pen out there too. That way people walking by can wish her a Happy Birthday and she will also have a keepsake.

I did this for my graduation last year. No one wrote anything nasty or mean, they just wished me congrats. It was great!!

we decorate our window @ pop every trip. we always buy a disney tablecloth to put on the table w/disney paper plates, cups, and napkins. they also have a birthday trading pin you can buy them. be sure and get the birthday pin for them to wear @ the front desk too!
