Decorating your resort room?

We're staying at Pop Century in August for my friends Bday
I need some reallyyy good ideas, I want to suprise her by having the room decorated before she arrives in it!! (We're going to think of a plan to keep her away from the room) But anyways, I need some good ideas..so far I'm thinking of those mickey paint swaps at HD, (LOVE IT) and maybe a banner...but any other suggestions???

Yeah- I was wondering the same thing about POP! Is there an outlet under the window??

We were @Pop last September to celebrate a friend's 40th birthday. I had lights, window clings for round the window and had printed Disney princesses on magnetic paper to hang on the door! I would suggested not only bringing an extension cord but also a timer so the lights will be on when you return to your room in the evening! princess:

I cant wait to decorate our room for the honeymoon. I have congrats signs and Just married clings! I may get some white light also.

Does anyone know if this is still allowed? I have been reading where Disney is cracking down on this?

Also IF ITS ALLOWED where are you all getting your stuff (sorry if this has been asked...my eyes got to hurting reading it all)? My son will be turning 2 while we are there in Dec and I'm wanting to get some stuff for the windows to show we are celebrating!!!! I havent found any thind online that isnt super super expensive.

I follow a bunch of threads and whenever this crops up, someone usually posts that they just returned, had decorated their window and no problem. So here goes:

we just returned on Sunday. No problem with what we put up. A couple Tink clings from Dollar General. On the sheers we pinned a pair of green tink costume wings that were from Dollar Tree. I would not use anything that would leave a mark on the window or pull paint off the doors.

Just check out your local dollar store and you should find some cute Disney things to use. Good luck shopping, decorate and enjoy!

I'm thinking of getting that since we are going in Dec. Then having DH take the kids out to do something and I go back to the room after premailing stuff to our hotel, and decorating it up for DS2's 2nd Birthday. I was going to get a birthday banner, some streamers, balloons....etc Does anyone know if ASMo has a place to blow up balloons at?

From all the replies that have come back, it seems that those who have had drawing on the window with window pens and other such decorations are the ones that have had trouble. I guess because there is the potential that people do not clean it off properly, and then Mousekeeping have to spend longer fixing a problem that shouldn't really be there, if that makes sense.

If everything is attached to the windows with sucker cups, and can just be pulled off without leaving sticky residue/marks/tape/anything that might require extra cleaning, then you should be okay, I reckon.

I found Christmas Disney Clings the year we went to WDW in Dec. I also made some decorations for a small 3ft tree that we sat on the table and placed it in front of the window. We totally unplugged it when leaving the room. I also made some mickey head decorations for the room and purchased 2 small and one large wreaths that I wired together, added a bow and made my own Mickey Head wreath (cost was less than $5 since I bought all the supplies at dollar tree). Then I got one of the metal door hangers you slip over the door and hung the wreath on the front door of our resort room. We drove down so taking things on a plane was not a problem. I also bent the hook part so that my Mickey head wreath would not go home with someone else, I know but people do things like that and I would have been crushed.

Just start looking for the clings in places like Walmart and dollar stores, hmmm start looking just after Halloween, you should find something.

we just got back at the beginning of the month and we decorated for me and my dd's birthday and we had no problems. Like someone else said, i think they have a problem if you are using the window paint or tape because it doesn't come off very well. we always use magnets and suction cups to put up our stuff. Here are some pics of our window.

I run over to Home Depot and "borrow" their Disney paint sample chips. The Alien Green is the hardest to find. Then my wife does wonders with them and little dollar store lights to dress up our rooms window. Sometimes she hangs a message board on our door.

So I went over to HD today and grabbed like 100 paint chips...LOL. I have 25 alien green. This woman next to me kept watching me grab a lot of certain colors. I think she went to tell someone so I walked off. I might go back in a few days again and get some more alien green. There were still a ton left.

Only 2 alien green paint chips at my Home Depot - Which one of you was there before me ?:rotfl2: Now I have to go back -

One year for our Christmas trip I made a Mickey out of window paint. I can't find the picture, but I think I have a receipe for it and I might try again.

We've never decorated our window, but I might be hitting out HD and giving the kids a surprise.
