Superlooking window. I see you made a sign about your Disboards membership. I'm definately 'borrowing' that idea. :rolleyes1 Did you make with WordPerfect or something similiar?

I haven't found anyone mentioning snowflakes; ya know, the ones we used to cut out of paper in primary school. I LOVED (still do) to cut out snowflakes. At home I tape them to the windows during Christmas and lightly spray fake snow on the window and then remove (carefully) the snowflakes. They leave beautiful patterns on the windows. I was so inspired by all the pictures and ideas last night that I cut out several. I rubbed a little glue on them and poured on different colors of glitter. They look so pretty. I'm going to get some laminate sheets and laminate them. I may cut out all the little detail or I just may cut up close around the snowflakes.

For those a little rusty on your snowflake cutting, I found some great websites that have templates you can print out and cut. It's looks like it would be something that kids (and adults) would really enjoy.

See what I did with your terrific idea? Just added some Christmas decoration since we're going in December and a border. I'm also making my own mickey heads from a picture someone else posted onto card stock and cutting out different colored ones from construction paper and laminating them and putting them on our door for people to sign. Maybe I'll meet some fellow Disboard members. Thanks for posting your pictures.

ok. I have made a couple of things to put on my window/door. This will be our first trip to disney, so Thanks to all of you for the great ideas to make my kids first trip to disney special. Even though my DH thinks I am going a little over board. :cheer2:

Hi Thomasclan85,

Thanks for the complement. We had a lot of fun adding new things to the window each day. We added the placemat from Chef Mickey's and the Personalized menu for the Coral Reef.
I used MS Word. There are some Disney Fonts you can download, but I was never able to find a link to do it.

Thomasclan85,

You're window looks very festive. I love it! You know, someone from the Boards saw my window and commented about when they returned from their trip. I got a kick out of my 15 seconds of fame!!! :)

My hubby thought I went way over board with my window. I had to take a little ribbing about it :rotfl: , but my girls loved it. Have fun...and enjoy your first trip.

Sending you lots of pixie dust:cheer2:

I've started making things too. I've been cutting out Mickey heads of construction paper for a streamer. My hubby said, "Don't you think you're starting a little early on that stuff?" Please, Dec. 3rd will be here before we know it. I'll post some pictures when I finish some. I can't wait to decorate my window anddoor. Your decorations look great!

Before I had some work done to my computer I had Disney fonts. I looked for them when I did my sign but couldn't find them.

The little green Mickeys on the window; are those the ones everyone is talking about getting from Home Depot? If you put them on the door for people to sign, how do you get them to stick? Tape?

Well, I'm not there yet Candikayne :) I've just made a sign from your idea that I'm going to put on the window when I get there. I've also made some Mickey heads of red construction paper with green glitter for a Happy Christmas streamer. I'll post it when it's finished.

Those are the LGMH's from Home depot. I stuck them on the window with a little tape. Maybe we should start a thread about the Font. I'm sure someone on here know the link to download the fonts.

I have been making everyone that I know steal Mickey Heads from Home Depot! My mom came in with a huge stack last night. Now, to figure out how I'm going to use those.

Do you decorate your windows at all the resorts? Or is this only at POP?

We decorated windows at POP, all the All Stars, and Coronado Springs Resort. If you stay in a value or moderate resort (where room doors open to the outside) - hey its a decorating opportunity!

I'm not going during Halloween but I saw these adorable pumpkin lanterns that would look great in anyones window or room if they're decorating. They hold small candles (tea lights, votives). The design's not Disney but there are all these swirls on it; makes it look 'magical'. :) They only cost $11.99 too. Here's the link if anyone wants to look.

There was also a lovely strand of lighted garland with autumn leaves:

The company is called Collections, Inc. and everything is under $20.00.

In the Christmas section I saw some lovely ornament suncatchers and a couple decorated miniature trees (30 inches and shorter) if someone wanted one for their room. Just thought I'd pass this along.

I don't have photo shop or any of those other cool graphics programs but I still made my own Disney family sign. See?

I just found some clipart I liked and opened it with Microsoft Paint and resized them all to be the same size and added our names. Then I copied and pasted them to Microsoft Word and printed it out. I still want to 'spice it up a bit' but I thought it looked pretty good considering I'm not the most talented person in the world. :rotfl:

For those of you that don't have access to a Home Depot, I found this LGMH template online but now I can't find where I got it. Hope it's of use to someone......

Candikayne, I found this link about disney fonts.

http://www.10-7.com/disney/font.htm

She gives you complete instructions about how to download them to your computer. I did it so ANYONE can.

I did these as an example. The fonts are Disney, Storybook, Lithograph Light, and Sherwood.
