I think that would be fun to have something "home" to come back to at the end of a day at the parks AND it would help the kids find our room ! :hippie:

when my boys were 12, i let them go to the arcade with each other.
i would decorate the door and window so they would definitely know which room was ours. that is how i started doing the decorating theme.

they would forget the room number but could always find the room due to the decoration.

Ok, so I totally forgot that my sister is queen of "misc party lights!". I checked her inventory and she is letting me borrow a cute string of lights. There is 25 in a pack, the "light" is about the size of a golf ball and they look like little mosaic candle/latterns. I thought they were cute! Now I'm brainstorming on how to birthday up the window. I think I'm just going to go through the scrapbook pile and put together some stuff. I'm so excited.

I'm trying to think on how to hang stuff up though. How do most of 'you' do it? I was going to bring some duck tape to hang the lights. (and dont forget the extension cord). Now as for the window decorations do most of you bring old fashioned scotch tape? I have to think about removing the decorations and I dont have great fingernails.. so I dont want to leave lil nasties all over the window either. I thought about my double sided scrapbook tape too. SO I guess the questions is what do you all use? I was planning on hanging up a bunch of little things and not one big poster pre say... Like I was going to make a birthday cake from construction paper.. Print off some "lil cuties" on the PC. and Cut out "Happy Birthday" in letters to hang etc.. anyone else have any suggestions?!

figment guy, do what i do sometimes.

you know those little itty bitty suction cups that have a hook on them, they are about an inch long.
for christmas time, i spit, yea i do spit instead of using water, in the middle of the suction cup and push it on our front picture window. i use the hook park to hang the christmas lights inside our window for decorations.

it is easier than using tape and it is secure and will hold them up.

use those hanging suction cups for the inside of your resort room window to hang the lights.

figment guy, if you don't have those suction cups or can't find any of them, i could send some that i have your way.

pm me if you need my help.

Thanks for the great idea! It sounds like you done some thinking on that! I'm going to try and hunt for some locally. I'm sure they have them in a craft/hobby/hardware store around town. Its getting down to the 'wire' if you will on our trip if mailing them could work. But if I did need some, would you send me spit free ones!? hahaha just kiddin! :rotfl2: I would spit on them too water just wouldnt work as well.

if you can't find any at places like joanne or walmart or micheals,
i can spare some for you.

problem is, i don't know which ones are spit free............ :teeth:

they sometimes have them in hardware stores, craft/hobby sections of merchandise stores.....kohls, kmart, target, walmart, ace hardware, etc.

they do have them i believe in michaels which is a chain store in chgoland.

Okay-
are the doors at Deluxes and Moderates made of that metal too? TIA :)

By the way, our band is going on a trip in 08 to the World. You can bet I will be decorating our door with Alien Green, orange and black Mickey Heads!

kcork1026,

What a great idea! Thank you for the idea. I went to Walmart spent $1.77 and the kids had a blast! We now have window decorations for our room!

I will probably use this idea for many occasions. Including making a craft for birhtday parties! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I also got 4 sets of mini Disney tie on ornaments to put on the tree ..( for our room).. From ebay..
by Christmas I hope to have everything to decorate with .. :)

This is so much fun .. :cheer2:

hi all! how is it going?? There are some great ideas flyin around!!

Just wanted to let TigerCherr2009 that as far as i know the Mods do have metal doors, it's been a bit over a yr since we've stayed at POFQ and CSR, but i think they do!! and it's been waaay to long since we've been to a Deluxe so i don't remember at all, sorry!!!

I'm loving this thread but wanted to warn against using 'true' Duct Tape!
The silver stuff sticks like glue after just a couple of days
and the strings in it will leave your window or whatever you taped with a grid pattern (can you tell I have personal experience? at home...).
I have used the newer white duct tape with good results, however.
Just a word to the wise :)

thanks for the heads up.

i find those little rubber suction cups good for stringing lights inside the window.

your input is great

i found the magnet roll for sale at Wal-mart for 2.49!! it's a lot of magnet! if you need just a few squares for your mickey heads, i can mail you some!! just let me know in a PM!

have a great day everyone!!!

We are going for a short visit Nov 8-13. Would it be ok to decorate with some Xmas things? These ideas are so great, but I would love to do Christmas but didn't know if it was too early.

Carrie106--> it is never to early for anything!!! when we go in November we decorate for Christmas!! go for it!! get a tree, do the lights! whatever you want!! we even throw up a turkey in the window for Turkey Day!!

Thanks so much! I have a small Pooh tree I got at Lowe's after Christmas for 4.99, I think I will take that and see what else I can find.
