Decorating your resort room?

Wow these are great ideas! :cool1:

I'd like to decorate for both by DD's b-day & Halloween.

Does Disney allow you to hang lights???? If so, what do you use to hang them?

TIA! :Pinkbounc

yes, you are allowed to hang lights :) we use tape, it's easiest to hold AND take down :)

Happy decorating!!

Thanks for the info DisneyMommyMichelle! I just noticed your ticker & DD & I will arrive at POP 2 days before you! :thumbsup2

Yes we are! I hate to wish the summer away but I wanna go to Disney! I'm glad I found this thread so now I can focus on decorations to pass the time... :hourglass

if it is not halloween, christmas or other holiday, you can still decorate the door and window.

are you celebrating a birthday? go to the dollar store and buy the HB banner. put it in the window, the inside, with tape.

just having a family vacation?
put up mickey heads. write your name on them or just write out "the wilson family" or whatever yoiur name is.

you can put up clingers of your favorite disney character also.

tie a bow around the door handle.

i have never had a problem with theft on the decorations i have placed outside my door, but there could always be a first time. do not put up something very valuable or close to your heart on the outside of the door that if stolen or damaged would make you grieve.
put those items on the inside of your window.

one of my friends just returned from disney and took pictures of decorated doors at pop. i aksed her to post those door pics over here.
i mentioned to her we are begging for pics on this thread.

There should be a generic decorations box that we fill with basic stuff that we just keep leaving at the Front desk or luggage services for the next family checking in ya know? Like i would be more than happy to start one for POP and such.

A couple of strings of white lights, some Mickey heads, TAPE, marker to write names on HD heads, happy birthday banner, blank paper, scissors..etc..whatever else we can think of. As each family comes they use it and then just add their own special touches to the window and put the stuff that came in the box back in the box or add some stuff of their own...it would be fun! That way not everyone has to bring lights and such..and if something runs our i.e tape or bulbs get burned out just tell the next person recieving it as a heads up :)

Just a thought!

WOW great ideals ..... I can't wait until our next trip .. I'm going to ship a package with a small tree and a wreath for the door... ( since it will be Christmas )

I feel the same way!!! I live in northern MI so believe me the last thing I wanna do is wish away the summer since we have precious little nice weather here. BUT on the other hand, I cannot wait for Sept!!!

I am so excited for it to get here. Too bad when I return from the trip it will shortly there after be time for snow again!!

Can I just wish for the trip and not the snow? :rotfl:

hey homies.

i gave my friend Kat this link so she can post some pics of decorated windows.
she stayed at pop.

she posted 2 pics on another thread today and she will help us out here.
shes' a good soul

Hi all. Here are a couple pics I took at Pop. There were about 20 or 30 rooms that I saw decorated in variations of these two pics. I have no idea how they got that way but I assume it was a group, I doubt the PC people painted them. I also saw a couple of "birthday" windows/doors and a graduation one but did not have my camera. Go out there and have fun! (I had originally brought my Mickey Heads to decorate but found the window shown so I left it)

Those flowers and butterflies certainly fit the POP theme. Thanks for posting these Kat! I'm not very creative, but I want to at least bring a string of lights, and a bow for the door in September. :cheer2:

Miss Beth...you can add another countdown to next September for our 2nd annual ladies only ;) . That will cure the winter blues :teeth:

Last year when we stayed at Pop, we decorated our window with mickey-shaped christmas lights, a mini-Christmas tree with fiber-optic lights, Disney plush that we purchased in the park and the towel animals that we received from mousekeeping during our stay. It looked great, festive and it was lots of fun!

This year I have been going to HD and getting some Mickey Heads in Dis green and some halloween colors to decorate our windows and doors at BWV. I am also going to get some purple halloween lights to hang up and plastic spiders. I am really looking forward to it!!

Happy Decorating, Dissers!

Someone had a string of Mickey Mouse lights in the window. They were way cute.

th eplastic spiders a re a good idea!! we have some rubber skeletons and bats!!! thanks for that!

love the butterflies! thanks for posting!!

it never occured to me to do window paint!! :) just bring some windex for afterwards :)

Thanks for the pictures, Kat!! It looks like they used those Crayola WIndow Markers. They are REALLY hard to clean up. I bought my DD those when they first came out and she proceeded to hog wild with them. I was totally sorry I got them when I had to clean all the windows.

Nah, that will be too far off at that point. I'm thinking a ladies only Vegas trip countdown ticker would do nicely though. ;)

Okay, so I went to HD and got some Mickey heads for the doors - my question is - what do you do, cut them out? Or do you just leave them like that? If you're cutting them out, what are you using? Thanks everyone!
