Decorating your resort room?

Thanks! I really wish you could see it more clearly! I thought I'd add a huge pink bow and then I cut the mickey head paint samples in coordinating colors and was going to paste them around the door as well and write Happt Birthday, McKenna on them. I'll have to take a photo of it when it's on the door..hopefully I'll be a little more polished posting photos by then.

We also have done the mickey heads, (from Home Depot ), only in orange and black for Halloween. Put them all over the door. Another time we took small magnetic frames and put past Disney trip pics in them, and put them on our door. For Christmas we took a small foldup tree with tiny decorations. We have seen others take strings of lights and put them on their balcony to light up in the evenings. Really cool :cool1:

That's what I was going to suggest! :goodvibes

I laminate everything! I'm a teacher and I literally spent hundreds of dollars on posters only to have them graffitied. :furious: I started laminating and it's very difficult to do permanent damage. Even sharpie ink can be removed with nail polish remover.

You can also get magnetic paper at Walmart (or similar store) and make a custom sign with your names and the date on it and hang that on your door. I've seen some DISers make beautiful ones!

my mommy made a magnetic sign that has mickey and minnie sitting on a doc and it has the date of the cruise so will always remember the cruise.Bye people! :wave2:

This Christmas I am bringing a small Winnie the Pooh tree I got on clearance at Lowe's for $5 for inside our room. I also have a strand of lights to put around the window (from the inside), Pooh and Friends Window clings, red and green foil garland and a big red velvet bow (all clearance specials from last year!)

But I love the Mickey head idea... may need to borrow that idea too...

Where did you get your name signature? that is the coolest thing I have seen.

I went garage saleing today for things to decorate my window with. I didnt really find anything but one strand of lights. They were halloween themed lights. A string of 10 bloodshot eyeballs. Haha. Were not going to WDW in october, but they were cheap! $2. Haha. So much for my days efforts. I'm just going to borrow a strand of cute mosaic lights from my sister. I printed off a few things to post in the window, a Happy Birthday banner and anything else I just may whip together. Guess We will have to see what I can slap together. I will take a pic or two to post. :thumbsup2

I also went to Wal*mart and picked up some hooks w/suction cups and some hooks w/magnet bases also.

I went to garage sales today also and found a box of Disney Christmas ornaments for $3. I counted them and there were over twenty in the box, some were Halmark, Disney store ect. I think I will use some to decorate my room in November.

Figment guy: GREAT BUY!!! on the lights~!!

WOOHOOO Carrie!! you got a DEAL!

i never get good garage sale finds!

I dont always have good luck at garage sales. BUT, I usually go to be social with my friends/family. If I run into good finds or what not, then that is cool too! I have my "window decorations" around to be packed to go down with us tuesday. I hope my window comes out okay and doesn't look to cheesy. (the bf thinks it's a lil silly to make a birthday window for myself) haha. Oh well, hope I don't get picked on to heavily. hehehe :teeth:

Yay for fun! (I should be finishing up packing right now! We are about to drive to detroit to stay the night so we can fly out early tomorrow morning!) BUT, here I sit on the DISboards. HAHAHA, now thats "cheesy". I have him out doing all the last minute running and I told him I'd stay here and finish up. So I got everything together (even my extension cord for my lights). If I see anyone else decorating their windows I'll take pictures too, hehehehe. Talk to you all when I get back!

i am getting excited for you too

or sketch it out for us.

yea, sure............ :artist:

This is not plutopuppy, it is her daughter.

These are great tips everyone. Now it's time to contribute mine! Do you know those window writer things that you can get at toys-r-us? You could use them(if you're driving) to write"We're going to Disney!" or something on your car window. They are kinda hard to erase sometimes, so maybe a hotel window wouldn't be the best, but with a bit of windex it'll turn out. Me and plutopuppy(aka mom) are going around my 13th birthday and I want to stay at POP. I love the Mickey head idea- that is a must! Maybe if you strung some on some ribbon, you could make DIS hair ribbons! I'll have to try that.

So do y'all decorate your deluxe rooms too or are we deluxe-stayers too hoity toity for such fun???

My mother is taking dd and me to WDW 12/4-12/12 and we're staying at WL. I was telling her about decorating the room and she looked at me like I was crazy. :confused3

Here I'm thinking how great it would be. Oh well, *she* doesn't have to decorate...but I think I'm gonna. :rolleyes1

plutopuppies DD!!! those are some cute ideas!! i have seen the window writer thigs, but i will look when i take the kiddos to TRU next time!!

As far as Deluxe, we usually put signs on our door!! and when we stayed at the Contemp we put stringlight on our balcony sliding door :)
