Hi all.
Long time Disney fan and first time cruiser.
We are planing a 4 day cruise in Feb 08 and have decided on Cat 6 room.

We want to be mid ship and was wondering from anyone who has been on that deck about the noise level from the deck below.
Are we better being under the Theatre, Flounder reef, Oceaneer club, or lab?

We have older children 15 & 11 and don't expect to be in the room to sleep till after 11. Which is the best place for quite after 11 PM and a chance to sleep in the morning?

Thanks for all the help !!!!

Hi,
out of the places you listed I would say under the theater would be best. If your talking walt disney theater forward, not the movie theater.

The WD theaters last show ends around 9:30 p.m. so it is pretty quiet after that.

Both the kids clubs are open much later at night and would have more noise.
so would the movie theater, since they have late night shows too.

But out of the last 3 choices I would pick the movie theater. In the kids clubs they are running and jumping and yelling. I'm sure it would be a lot more noise than the movie theater.
I have sat under the kids club in Studio Sea and boy was it loud!!!

Good luck,

Deck 6 rooms aren't under anything except rooms on deck 7 . . . you could be above the kids' clubs or the theater, but not below them on deck 6. We found deck 6 to be very quiet (other than when kids run down the hall screaming, but that can happen anywhere!).

We were in 6088 on the Aug double dip, Deck six is nice and peacefull,
Except for the kids and people running up an down the halls, ( that happens on most decks) :rotfl2:

Great location and you get a veranda too

Thanks everyone for the help. I realize that above us is nothing but rooms. I just wanted to make sure that noise from below was not bad.
If anyone else has had a room mid ship deck 6 that they liked let me know.

We just got off the Wonder last Thursday. We had room 6076 and it was perfect.

We had mid ship 6586 and liked it so much we booked the exact room for our next cruise Dec 2008! We barely heard anything and we were above the kids club. The laundry area was diagonal and across from our room, but that was not an issue either. I found the rooms to be quieter than most hotels! Our dd 6 slept later than ever on the ship! We actually had to wake her up in the morning and she is a light sleeper!

The verandah is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1: :woohoo:

I only stay on 6..Cat 6 midship...never any problem with noise. So you have a stateroom assignment yet? The rooms that we always stay in are 6564, 6566,6064,6076 twice and forward in 6036 2005 Repo cruise. We have room 6064 again for 2008 Mexican Riviera for a back to back..

Have a great cruise:thumbsup2

Our first and second cruises were in cat 11 rooms on deck 6. We had no trouble with noise levels and the rooms were convenient to everything. I think one of the rooms we stayed in was 6547.

Enjoy your trip!

I cannot help right now but I will be staying in 6548 when we cruise March 1. I can report back and let you know!

I stayed in 6056 in Feb 05 and 6550 last week and loved both rooms. Great midship spots by the elevator/stairs. Not noisy except for the screaming kids once in awhile. Booked 6560 for PC EB repo and can't wait!

We have that room (6548) reserved for the 2008 Eastern Repo. We just got off the Magic on Saturday - we stayed in 6554. All was great, heard very little noise from below us!

Wow msaseifert, you and were neighbors on last week's cruise and will be neighbors on the repo! I remember your door sign! Did Leslie rebook onboard for you?

The Disboard people are the best.
Thanks for all the guidance.
I just booked stateroom 6062 . It looks good but is right at the elevators mid ship. Does anyone know if this spot gets lots of traffic and noise? I was think maybe moving down the hall a little.

Only 12 months to go  :cool1:

We were in 6064 on the Wonder. I also was concerned about lots of noise from people getting on and off the midship elevators/stairs, but it really wasn't a problem. It's a great location... next cruise we're in 6564.

I am not sure what her name was, my DH got the quote and said that it was a bit high, said he was going to talk to the rep. Next thing I know he has the confirmation in his hand and tells me we are booked - SO COOL! I think I will save my door signs and change the dates - I really got a lot of compliments on them. Thanks!

I will be in 6064 for a back to back for the Mexican Riviera cruise...I asked for that room. Great spot. Love having my room near the steps and elevator and not far from the laundry room. I always stay in that area and always try to get my cabin there...

You should not be disapointed...I have never heared kids making noise...:thumbsup2

o.k. this is sorta on subject, but just a quick question. We booked deck 6, cat. 6, room 6560. What are the bathrooms like? Is it true the bathtub/showers are gonna be hell to bathe in? I heard they are very tiny, and we may have trouble moving in them. Any info?

If anyone else has had a room mid ship deck 6 that they liked let me know.

We also had a mid-ship Cat. 6 and found it to be surprisingly quiet - as we were near elevators and not far from the laundry. It was wonderfully relaxing! Have a great trip!:boat:

TinkerbellTris,

The shower and tub are small. I am 5 ft 7 and if I were to sit in the tub, my knees would be bend up almost to my chest. I think the tub is actually there just as a convenince for bathing small children and grownups are expected to use the shower.

I have No problem with using the shower. My DH is 6 foot and he can stand in it ok, but if your a plus size person I can see how you could have a problem. One good thing is the shower head can be taken down and used by hand to get wet instead of having to move around to get wet from the stream of water.
Although it is small, from what I have been told it is still larger than some other lines.
