The big scrapbook convention at the Orange County Convention Center is scheduled for November 10-12. That is parent's weekend at DD's college. How to decide?

I can go to the convention and spend a ton of money on things that will sit around waiting for me to get to them, or I can go visit DD. No brain-er! Think of the pictures I can take at parent's weekend to scrap when I have spare time (still waiting for that)!
