My extended family & I are already booked for a WDW trip staying at the ASMO in early Oct, 2006. However, the more info I get on Coronado Springs (particularly Mario's AWESOME website!), the more I am tempted to change.
On one hand, my 9 year old great nephew is a huge Toy Story fan, so staying close to those Buzz & Woody icons would be awesome for him! Plus, of the 6 people going on this trip, 2 are first-timers & 3 have been to Epcot once only (I am the veteran of this group & I've only been twice) so the theme parks will be our focal point & we won't be spending much time in the room at all. Also, I've priced CSR & it would add another $800 to our package-since I'm paying my niece & great nephew's way as well as my own, I would have to come up with about half of the extra money. But, on the other hand, 5 of the 6 of us are adults & might enjoy a resort with a little less frenetic pace, some more amenities & less chance of encountering standing room only bus service & being housed with noisy school groups! I'm going back & forth on this one & just can't decide  I really want this to be a memorable trip for all of us. Any & all opinions would be most welcome! :)

I have never stayed at Coronado, but have heard it is pretty spread out, I have stayed at the Movies and am staying 2 days there again in Nov. before going over to bcv. I have a 4 year old son who loves to stay in "Andy's room"
and if you get into the Toy Story building you will be close to main bldg. with
food court and pool. For kids, I say Toy Story especially w/ an extra $800 in your pocket to spend.

Well, I have to vote for spending the extra (if it's not a burden) and go to CSR. This resort is our favorite moderate and feels like a deluxe in some ways. The pool and slide are great and your niece and nephew will love it. There's a large playground, 2 gamerooms, a really good counter service restaurant with lots of variety and good food. You can take a surrey bike around the resort to see the whole resort, and at night it's a real treat. I really can't say anything bad about CSR, we just love it!!! One of the best themed resorts in all of DW. It is large, but last year we stayed in the ranchos ( as far out as you can go) and we were only 3 - 4 minutes from the pool area and 5 - 6 to the Pepper Market and El Centro. You will hear about conventioneers walking all over the resort, but in our stays we never noticed anyone. So what if they are there on business, this resort caters to business people and we get the benefits at a moderate price, well worth it IMHO!!! ;)

Never being to any of the value resorts, I can just say that my DD 8 and DH 10 loved CSR this past 9/28 - 10/03! They loved the pool, it was great, we'd get back from the parks and we'd be dead tired, and the kids would say, "But can't we just go for a quick swim?" :rotfl: It never seemed full or overcrowded. They loved the bunnies and little lizards they'd see on the trails, and loved walking around at night looking at the lights. We only went to Pepper Market once, but they loved it, and my DD is a picky eater. We only had to stand on the bus once, and that was coming back to the resort after the park had closed, never needed to stand on the way there. Not sharing a bus with another resort was great.

We had stayed at WL Jan 04, and found CSR not at all disappointing. It will be a hard decision next vacation. We loved WL, but they were so close, and for the money and the amount of time spent at the resort, CSR was a great value without it seeming like we compromised.

If you can afford the added expense of CSR without causing you financial stress then go for it. The moderates have a much more relaxed feel then the values.
