My DD17 and I are doing a trip with just us 2 in late July(leaving DH at home), to get in 1 last trip before senior year. We already have a studio booked at our home AKV. We have stayed there many times, we love it. However we want to possibly try somewhere else, and looks like OKW is less points(which is great because we need to save as many as possible for 2021 graduation trip to Aulani) Any reasons to like/not like OKW? We're not renting a car, just doing Disney transportation all week, so relying on buses, which I'm hearing aren't great at OKW. We will be going to MK, AK, and DHS.

OKW is my home resort. I was just there this past December. I have a rental car, but on this stay relied more on Disney transport. I found it fairly efficient for OKW to all the parks; very comparative to driving. The only hitch was one morning the MK bus was delayed for quite awhile.
I was in building 25, which is near a bus stop--the first one on the route through the resort. So if I missed the bus at that stop, I would walk over to Hospitality House, where the bus stopped 15 minutes later.

Hi! We just stayed at AKL this January and the bus transportation was absolutely awful. We ended up ubering a few times. The studios at OKW are large and they have 2 queen beds, we did not find the transportation bad there.

With DD17 I'd look at SSR. You'd be walking distance to Disney Springs.

OKW studios have two real beds (no sleeper sofa). That's the biggest perk of all. You can take the boat or even walk during daylight hours to Disney Springs. No matter where you are staying at OKW, just hop a bus to get to the Hospitality House to dine or swim in the themed pool. Or get an adult beverage. Then walk over to the Peninsular Road bus stop and hop any bus back to your area.

We're at OKW now. The buses aren't bad once you get the hang of how they run through the resort. I traveled to BWV, which has a queen bed and sofa sleeper, in May with my 19 yo. He was really uncomfortable on the sleeper. I'd go with OKW for the two queen beds.

Definitely doing more research and looking up some pictures. Sounds like the buses aren't that bad.

OKW is a great choice. We have done both resorts, split stays at both and still love the OKW vibe.

I think OKW would be a wonderful choice for your DD. As stated above, just a great vibe to the place.

Just be aware that you will be carrying your suitcases probably up stairs though.
